Great in-depth reporting from Ukraine by @lydiatomkiw and @EmilyJReports covering mental health, wartime children's literature, and Ukrainians' perspective on the upcoming US election. Listen to their stories! 📻🎧@TheWorld (linked in thread below) https://t.co/OhMxWq0bOM
A surprisingly funny story I had the absolute joy of getting to edit, about a dispatch center in Kyrgyzstan where people are frantically helping truckers in the U.S. get deliveries to our doorsteps. https://t.co/J1vpXIsFPb
Awesome story by @sushmitza about how sometimes the best innovation is something simple and forgotten, not something shiny and new. How old school wells are alleviating water scarcity in India. https://t.co/LICh7xooDP
Food growers in Bangladesh and Spain on the forefront of climate change adaptation. They share a problem. Their solutions differ. Great reporting by @RachelDParsons
If you are confused about the tension over Midwestern identity and who gets to claim it in the VP race this year, shameless plug for my own work on that topic https://t.co/sOR9CdqKAO
Is there anything better than getting a copy of a friend’s new book? I don’t think so. I’m one chapter in, and completely in awe of the clarity, heart, and journalistic rigor @AmandaBecker brings to this tough topic.
Such a good book. Not that I’m in any way surprised. The title comes from one of my favorite sentences @Sarah_Smarsh has published (and may I note that that’s saying a lot?) - a much-needed antidote to all the superficial hot takes.
It looks and sounds like I’m about to be treated to a midwestern thunderstorm and I could not be happier about it. The storms here put everyplace else to shame and I have really missed them. Ah!!!!! It’s starting!!!! Weird sky color, let’s go.
On this 3rd anniversary of the fall of Kabul, an incredible story incredibly told by @Shirinj - “Afghanistan has always been more than a story.” https://t.co/iqBslSdvVx
Fast-changing political situations draw me back to this site, pretty predictably. Here’s a reminder of why you gotta be careful about letting social media be a significant source of info. https://t.co/GDaI4tSzRY
I've been so busy building this thing that I haven't had much time to promote it, so here it is:
The 2024 KC Voter Guide. An unprecedented collaboration between multiple newsrooms in Kansas City trying to make this election more accessible to voters. https://t.co/Jiun2LDO5K
