Mamdani on homelessness in America: “I’ve spoken about the Israeli government committing genocide and I’ve spoken about our government funding it.”
Foreign Aid and fighting homelessness are two important, but separate topics.
Instead of blaming American homelessness on the Jewish State by falsely claiming the US funds “genocide,” Mamdani could simply advocate for more funding to end homelessness.
But he is a populist who knows that scapegoating Israel will gain him more support — and doesn’t care that it reinforces antisemitic tropes.
@OMudallal An example of selective outrage and empathy was silence after the 10/7 barbarism and calling every casualty now murder. It’s asking for a ceasefire without releasing hostages. I wasn’t aware rules in war included equitable mortalities. Also 300 Israeli deaths? Good luck to you
@OMudallal@MusaSharkawiMD My comments Omar were directed at the selective outrage and empathy being asked of MedTwitter. I am very sorry for the loss of this brave young physician.
@raanonaa_ @MusaSharkawiMD My comments were directed at a clear biased and selective outrage. The silence was deafening following Oct 7 with no empathy or outrage by many, until Israel defended itself against Hamas. I certainly mourn the loss of all innocent lost and am saddened that this young man/Dr died
Mosab Hassan Yousef, known as The Green Prince and is the son of a founding member of Hamas who flipped and went undercover as a spy for Israel, has lived the Palestinian struggle but he says if Israel gives into a ceasefire than Hamas will only become more powerful.
@RepRashida You should be embarrassed that this was your first post since 10/7. No recognition of even Americans who were murdered. As a Palestinian American, you should have been the first to condemn the massacre. You have failed as an elected representative.
@RepSlotkin Interesting to review Tlaibs page since 10/7. Six days of silence before coming to the defense of Gaza. She fails to represent all her constituents the way you do.
@SanaSaeed Correction. Not the 2006 “Israeli war on Lebanon!” The war started when Hezbollah fired rockets into Israel, raided Israel and took two soldiers hostage. Their experience should also not justify tearing down posters of hostages.
@marclamonthill You didn’t just call for a ceasefire. You provided excuses for murder, rape and torture. You called Israel a colonial project. That doesn’t sound like a call for peace. Have you been to Israel? Have you talked with Israeli-Arabs? You are a fraud inciting anger.
