@PTXofficial I was just thinking: It's 10 years of PTX this year. Is there a chance we can get an "Evolution of PTX" medley with Matt AND Avi? Double the bass would be mind-blowing!!
@Casey I love that! And I really love Franny's name. It looks like mine (Fanny) but it's far more acceptable and less problematic than mine in English speaking countries. I should use it next time...if I'm ever allowed to travel again.
@BBCNorthAmerica@BBCWorld Has there ever been a movement to change the voting system to one where people's votes are all important? Are Americans aware of the fact that people in other democracies actually vote for parties according to the policies they propose and not just for the guy on the cover
@Ninja True, German here, I'm wondering who these idiots are, but I can see more people not wearing their masks properly or at all on buses and in shops every day. It annoys me so much. Our numbers were great with about 300 cases and 4 deaths a day for weeks. Now we are at 1000 cases..
@Loeya@bookdepository Is this a bad time to tell you that you made a great choce and that I remember loving these books when I read them a couple of years ago? Might just re-read them, now that you reminded me of them...
@TINARAES You're thinking about putting up your decorations. I still have a cute stuffed snowman in my bathroom that I forgot when I finally took down most of my decorations in early March...
@Tessawry@bobthemole@leepen_lee@arlenparsa ...It doesn't mention the Maori at all and it's in the back of the book, as an optional/additional resource. The whole textbook in year 9 isabout Australia and I feel like it would have been easy to make a Unit with a focus on NZ. "Australia and NZ" is used like one entity here.
@Tessawry@bobthemole@leepen_lee@arlenparsa That is a great movement and NZ history and culture before colonisation are so interesting. Sadly, I don't think NZ even gets a single mention in German history lessons and I took a photo of the only page that includes any info about it from our year 9 English textbook...
@leepen_lee@arlenparsa I teach the topic with primary sources as well, but I know that my two colleagues, who teach the year 10 to year 12 students too, also go into detail on it.
@leepen_lee@arlenparsa For transparency's sake I should say it's also not specifically mentioned in the English textbook or curriculum here in Germany. That just says "Overview of British and American history, as well as the wider English speaking world" or something similar.
