Just landed in Ft Myers. Time to take a step back and enjoy watching 17 yr old kids play this great game. Thanks to everyone for following along this yr on @NESN. We had some fun. It was an honor to be part of the @NBCSports Post Season coverage, just not the end we were hoping 4
Couldn’t be happier for Chad Tracy. Walked into a nearly impossible situation, with a clubhouse that clearly wasn’t too happy about the firings, and he found a way to not only keep the group together, but help them thrive.
The identity this team formed after that Rockies series was sparked in a massive way by the buy-in he created. He empowered each role player that stepped in and gave them runway if they started to perform. It was those initial gains in the small ball department that got the tires spinning on offense again. The reset with Caleb Durbin at the end of May was massive. The in-game decision making has been strong overall. Especially when arms have been down and it’s taken a bunch of creativity to get through 9. Felt like there were so many things going against this team, but the group didn’t fold. All of this while navigating a young/new coaching staff and media in a tough market too.
Feels pretty clear that the partnership between Tracy and Craig Breslow is firing on all cylinders as well. Much credit to Breslow for empowering him, because while I was a big Chad Tracy guy, I was a massive Alex Cora guy as well. Breslow nailed the changes.
Wild to see Tracy follow in the footsteps of his Dad. Tracy Turnaround 2.0.z
The Boston Red Sox have removed the interim tag from manager Chad Tracy's title and signed him to a three-year contract with a club option for 2030. Tracy took over as manager following Alex Cora's firing when Boston was 12-17. The Red Sox are 74-55 since.
PAYTON TOLLE DOMINATES FOR 6 SHUT WITH 7 K’S AND AN IMMACULATE INNING, DING DONG FOR HOME RUN DURBY, GO-AHEAD RBI KNOCK FOR ROMAN, 2-RUN KNOCK FOR TS10, SAVE FOR 44, RED SOX TAKE THE SERIES WE GOT KETCHUP #GOLDBOTTLES
The Red Sox have clinched a winning season. Obviously this shouldn’t be considered some big accomplishment, but that looked impossible in late June. Four more series to go until we get to the real thing.
