I beg to disagree with the idea that South Africans are abandoning spaza shops simply because, normally citizens, want a “good life” and therefore prefer fancy jobs.

Also these spaza shops we see that Asians are running are multi million businesses u may think they are dirty jobs they not... I have seen Malawians who yes they work small jobs but from that they built houses back home... So it's not a right thing for locals to be choosy what job to take...

Wanting a better life does not mean refusing to work. Go around the world and you’ll find citizens selling on street corners, running small shops, doing manual labour, cleaning, driving, farming and taking whatever honest work is available to put food on the table.

The fact that I'm a Citizenis not a passport to me being lazy and want good life. 😭The real question we need to address sir is: why are some South Africans choosing not to enter certain businesses or jobs when other people are willing to take those opportunities?
