Love the sweeping drama of #TheCrown and the tipsy tales of Drunk History? Me too! I’m not a professional historian…just a writer who loves royalty, glitter, and whiskey. Join me as I obsess over royal women and their tiaras here: https://t.co/LijMv9vLuJ
So, my husband - a car guy, with decades of experience sourcing parts - had the job of finding new tires for me. Turns out, after hours on the phone, I find out he picked an eBay scam seller and I'm temporarily out $200 while it's resolved. 🤷♀️If you want something done right...
@royalmusing There totally are. The hubby has used several before to buy tires for his truck and project cars. But it just didn't work out this time. He said he checked the feedback for the seller and everything.
@royalmusing Oh, there are - it's the first place I would have gone. But that's not the hubby's process. He buys online and only has the tire store install them - says it's cheaper. I no longer trust him about this, obviously. 😉
Young adult biographies in the library! I remember these Marguerite Vance books vividly. I wish I could remember the authors of the books I read on Elizabeth I and Marie Antoinette...I could draw the covers from memory because I checked them out so many times.
Is it freakin' cold where you live, too? I warmed up by reading this and dreaming of the French Riviera. It's a fun read that makes me wish I could have been in Nice or Menton when Victoria was in town. My full review + tidbits: https://t.co/P7JcOR2FZW #BookRecommendations
@r_a_poe@AikoSnowdog@ChristinsQueens Thanks! This was kind of a blind date situation - a dinner out for an initial introduction with lots of other people around. Hard to gauge the nuances 180 years after the fact. 🤪
German speakers, I need your help! If a boy meets a girl and describes her gaze as schwärmerisches, what does that mean? Google & DeepL are giving me entrancing/rapturous. Is that your take on this? "Ihr Auge hat etwas schwärmerisches, das Eindruck machen kann."
I watched the Peacock documentary on the pair skating controversy from the 2002 Salt Lake City games - fascinating! It was so good to hear from Scott Hamilton and David Pelletier circa right now is one sexy beast. https://t.co/IXuTr6TmXO
For my 30th b-day, I bought tickets to a Meat Loaf show. I adored "I'd Do Anything For Love," but later used his music as writing inspiration - the dramatic highs and lows, the emotion, the storytelling. I wanted to write the way Meat Loaf sang. Thank you for the inspiration.😢
@royalmusing It would be if you're drinking something Canadian or Scottish. I'm old school (and, so I'm told, lame) for liking Canadian blended varieties (whisky). But my grandma loved Bushmills (Irish, hence the whiskey spelling).
I vote for a professional sponsorship effort between whiskey and historians (even amateur ones like me). This post, brought to you by whiskey...this video, narrated thanks to whiskey...this article, practically co-written by whiskey...
