If Pastor Bolaji is being blamed for not teaching his congregation properly, please visit churches where these things are taught regularly during midweek and Sunday services. Then speak to adult members of those churches about the same topic. You may be surprised to hear the same reasoning expressed in that clip.
This goes beyond Pastor Bolaji, his church or any denomination. It is widespread, and the churches are hardly the only places where these attitudes exist.
A pastor can devote years to teaching, counselling, correcting misconceptions and explaining the same principles repeatedly. None of that guarantees that every adult listening will understand, accept or practise what is taught. At some point, the responsibility for what a person believes, says and does must rest with that person.
How long are we going to hold pastors responsible for the reasoning of adults who have parents, personal experiences and minds of their own?
These attitudes are widespread and deeply entrenched. Blaming one pastor will neither explain them nor address them.
To those dragging him, please remember Matthew 10:14: “Shake off the dust of your feet” when people refuse to receive the message. You can teach and correct, but you cannot force adults to listen. Rather than drag Pst. B, we should be concerned about the lost souls of this time
It’s sad that a short clip of yesterday’s sermon, featuring the “men dey” response, is overshadowing the powerful messages Pastor Bolaji has shared all month on the mindsets destroying relationships and marriages.
Those dragging Pst. B should remember that he did nothing wrong.
