One of the biggest game-changers in my personal and professional relationships is:
Assume misunderstanding over malice.
I appreciate being given the benefit of the doubt, so why not extend it to other whenever possible?
A leaner body does not automatically mean a healthier body.
For me, leaner = more obsessed, restrictive, anxious, miserable, and it eventually led to two autoimmune illnesses my doc thinks were triggered by the stress.
Leaner does not always equal healthier.
Working on a new project + diving deep into how to write training programs and I'm reminded that:
✅ There's no "perfect" path
✅ Many paths lead to the same goal
✅ Ability level, schedule, goals, and preferences matter
✅ Consistency + progressive overload > everything else
Nutrition Truths:
✅ Bread is not “bad.” Kale is not “good.”
✅ You're not “good” or “bad” for eating certain foods.
✅ You don't have to be “on” or “off” a diet.
✅ Salad and cupcakes can co-exist in the same meal.
✅ You can eat foods you love and still get results.

Saw my PT today for a big toe issue.
Before taking my socks off I sheepishly apologized for my toes b/c I recently picked all my polish off.
Him: "In 30 years, I've never NOT had a woman apologize for her toes or unshaved legs.
Never once has a guy apologized for his body."
Hot take:
*Requiring* clients to weigh and measure and count and track their food often does more HARM than good...
...by creating (or exacerbating) disordered eating habits and behaviors.
I recently heard someone say that instead of telling young girls:
"I'm proud of you!"
We should say:
"Are you SO proud of yourself?"
To teach them to validate themselves instead of looking for external validation and I felt that in my *bones*
Be wary of any coach or expert who speaks with 100% certainty all the time.
Phrases like:
✅ it depends
✅ to the best of our knowledge
✅ we currently think
✅ the evidence suggests
✅ in my experience
…show humility, and respect for context and how knowledge evolves.
