These old characters had minimal screen time. Mai and Yuki appear in just a single fight, but their dynamic is clearly established in it, and to their fans it is what makes them memorable. Still, the limited storytelling format leaves room for interpretation.

(But it's not as if change is possible. Too many good memories stuck for that, even if in retrospect some stuff written by younger me is of questionable quality, to say the least. The heart had been there though, even if the mind wasn't always.)

(At the time of this account's creation, multi-musing under a single profile was a novelty in the touhou sphere. The purpose was to share the story of the witches to a wider audience, as i felt their lack of representation to be criminal.)

(Nowadays, others carry the torch, so that has changed. And I wonder if I would've had more motivation to write had I only chosen 1 demon {likely Mai}. I question how effective it'd be to keep doing both characters simultaneously in a hypothetical where I become active.)
