On this date in 1947, Anne Frank’s "The Diary of a Young Girl" was first published, appearing in the Netherlands under the title "Het Achterhuis" (“The Secret Annex”); it became a classic of war literature.
Drinks für heiße Tage. Ohne Zucker,Zusatzstoffe. #Hitze
Pete Hegseth fired a Navy Vice Admiral to make her disappear, and yesterday the voters of South Carolina handed her a path to a seat in Congress. Her name is Nancy Lacore.
#Wasser
Mike Johnson: "This is not a joke. We are in a fight right now to save the republic and every American needs to take this seriously. You need to wake up. This upcoming midterm is not the midterm elections of years ago. This is gonna decide the direction of the country. Are we gonna maintain our status as a constitutional republic on our 250th anniversary?"
The SAVE Act is being marketed as election security.
I think that’s bullshit.
In my opinion, this has nothing to do with protecting democracy and everything to do with controlling who gets to participate in it.
Because let’s be honest: the billionaire with a passport, a lawyer, a filing cabinet, and every document they’ve ever touched isn’t the one who’s going to struggle with this.
The person working two jobs is.
The single mother is.
The elderly citizen who hasn’t seen their birth certificate in fifty years is.
The rural American who has to drive hours to replace documents is.
The citizen living paycheck to paycheck is.
And that’s the part nobody wants to talk about.
Every new hurdle looks reasonable to the people who don’t have to jump over it.
Every new form looks simple to the people with money.
Every new requirement sounds easy to the people with resources.
The people who write these laws never seem to be the people standing in line for six hours, taking unpaid time off work, paying replacement fees, hunting down records from another state, or figuring out how to navigate another bureaucratic maze.
Funny how that works.
In my opinion, when politicians start adding obstacle after obstacle between citizens and the ballot box, they’re telling you something.
They’re telling you they don’t trust voters.
They’re telling you they don’t trust democracy.
They’re telling you participation is a threat.
Because if your ideas are winning, you don’t need barriers.
If your policies are popular, you don’t need paperwork traps.
If the people are with you, you don’t need to make voting harder.
You just let people vote.
That’s the whole point.
What worries me isn’t that citizens are being asked to prove citizenship.
What worries me is the growing attitude that every citizen must constantly prove they deserve rights they already possess.
Rights aren’t supposed to be earned through endless administrative hurdles.
Rights belong to the people.
And in my opinion, any movement that becomes obsessed with restricting participation instead of expanding it is moving in the wrong direction.
Democracy is supposed to be confident.
Democracy is supposed to be strong.
Democracy is supposed to trust the people.
When leaders start acting like they need fewer people voting instead of more people voting, that’s when alarm bells should start ringing.
Because power is healthiest when it has to compete.
Power becomes dangerous when it’s afraid to.

Trump: "The Elizabeth 'Pocahontas' Warren centric housing bill, which is of minor importance compared to lower interest rates, and even FISA, pales in comparison to passing THE SAVE AMERICA ACT. That is what Americans, both Dumocrats, Republicans, and everyone else, care about. Get the bad Republicans to approve it or, better yet, Terminate the Filibuster and approve it, AND EVERYTHING ELSE REPUBLICANS HAVE EVER DREAMED OF. The Dumocrats will do it in hour one, 100%. Republicans will feel very stupid if they don’t do it first. I’ll be watching with tears in my eyes!!! President DJT"
wow -- Trump is crashing out: "Today’s Housing News Conference and Signing is hereby cancelled until such time as we pass the desperately needed SAVE AMERICA ACT, which I consider to be a National Emergency. Thank you for your attention to this matter! President DJT"
Trump: “America will NEVER be a communist country!”
Two hours later:
Trump: “I’ve instructed the DOJ to investigate why private companies aren’t lowering their prices.”
