Friend expressed to me his dislike for "glorifying" tragedy of MLK death on 50th anniversary. Not sure that's the case. More like shining light to appreciate and study his impact. That's important with race relations still such a huge issue. #MLK50Forward
Can't wait to attend the Comic Cons in Philly, Columbus, Ft. Lauderdale and Chicago for A Celebration of Animation: The 100 Greatest Cartoon Character in Television History. Cartoon lovers unite! #Cartoons#books
Jose Calderon has earned the right to be part of the playoff rotation. He's outplayed George Hill. His plus-minus is fabulous, the Cavs don't turn the ball over with him on the court, and he brings steadiness. He's also a really good shooter who gives LeBron more space.
SO SICK of Browns talk on local sports radio here in Cleveland. The Cavaliers are preparing for the playoffs, the Indians are three days away from the regular season and all they ever talk about is who the Browns will draft at QB. There are other teams in town, guys!
Nice comeback win by the Cavaliers last night, but you wonder why they can't play four quarters of intense, effective defense. If they do in the playoffs, they're going to make the Finals. No doubt in my mind.
It's a little sad to see Indians players you know won't make the team just raking in spring training. Diaz, Urshela, Gonzalez, Mejia (who has already been sent down) ... I know ST means little, but these guys can play. Urshela and Gonzo are already out of options. Whatta they do?
Wow ... thanks to the folks attending my book presentation at the North Ridgeville Library on Sunday ... biggest crowd I've had yet and they were SO receptive! Showed some new Bugs Bunny and Snoopy cartoons and fun was had by all.
I remember walking out to protest the Vietnam War in 8th grade. I applaud kids for protesting archaic and dangerous gun laws. And to those that say they should be punished, school is about getting an education. This is a lesson about civic responsibility and the right to protest.
Our beloved president just praised the "marine core" in a tweet. Really. Do we really want a dumb commander-in-chief? He needs to place Dan Quayle in as V-P. Then they can team up to write about the "marine core" serving a "potatoe" in its mess tent.
Sorry, but Tyronn Lue is a terrible coach. I understand the injuries and limitations, but he has NO offensive system. No ball movement, no body movement. And, most telling, the Cavs don't play hard defensively. His motivational abilities are non-existent.
Kudos to those who braved bad weather in Lorain this weekend to attend by presentation for A Celebration of Animation: The 100 Greatest Cartoon Characters in Television History. Great audience that did a lot of laughing at the cartoon snippets I showed. That's always nice!
Saw Beatles tribute band "Rain" last night. Fabulous show. So much better than "1964" as "Rain" changed outfits and played songs from all Beatles eras. Much preferable as the Beatles evolved so much after their mop-top days. Only regret: They didn't play "Hello, Goodbye"
I also hope Browns don't feel Taylor is long-term answer for sure and bypass QB in first round. They still need to take one ... it looks like they're setting up their offense to eschew a straight drop-back QB like Rosen. Too bad because I believe he'll be best pro of the bunch.
Love the moves made by the Browns this weekend ... no silliness like from previous regimes. Dorsey is just a solid, smart GM. I hope Landry is no Kenny Britt in regard to attitude in playing for a vastly inferior team.
The biggest beef people had was Homer Simpson at No. 2 overall. Some thought he belongs ahead of Bugs Bunny at No. 1. Others thought he should have been dropped considerably and that Bart should have been ahead of him. Hmmm ....
The Cleveland Comic Con was a blast! I love interacting with folks who ask questions and want to debate the rankings in my book, A Celebration of Animation: The 100 Greatest Cartoon Characters in Television History.
