Why don't we see Cotard's syndrome and delusions of denial anymore, and rarely del. of guilt, poverty, and ruin? If the brain is damaged years after drug treatment, is the cause linked to the drugs or to the disorder itself?

You continue to confuse etiology with pathophysiology.Mental disorders have correlates in the brain just as diseases from cigarette smoking has correlates in the lungs.The statement "Mental disorders are diseases of the brain" holds this meaning even if the cause is trauma/stress
