Hey everyone. I know it's been a long time and I said I would do another giveaway, but as it turns out my family is broke for the time being while I work 2 jobs to support the kids and my SO. I have been rolling around the idea of rebooting this twitter away from giveaways and more to bringing you all along on my journey to financial independence. A lot of young people such as myself use Twitter and have no basis on what investing is or what's possible over time. I'd like to start my portfolio and post updates here daily/weekly/monthly etc. Maybe down the line giveaways will return, but right now I need that money to go to my family and their future in case something happens to me and I can't provide any longer. Please tell me your thoughts, and thank you for bearing with me over the last month or so.
@pulte That would be huge for my family. I want to take their wonderful mother out on a nice date while keeping a safety net for peace of mind. Accumulating money for savings had proven difficult with inflation and being on my sole income while she stays at home with the kids.
@pulte That would be life changing money to my kids and I. I'd also like to do something nice for their mother since she has to stay home with them (saves on childcare!) and we don't get out much. I figure I'd keep trying these posts for a miracle. $GiveBackGreater
The mother of my kids lost her childhood home by the superstition mountains in AZ in her parents divorce. I want nothing more but to return that home or something like it back to her and our two kids when I am able. Unfortunately we're living on my sole income as a warehouse worker working two jobs to support my SO, Our Two kids, and the Mother in law. I'm trying to build a dividend portfolio for income to help out but I fear my generation is priced out of owning property and we'll be stuck renting forever.
I'm sure there are a few hundred thousand people out there who's lives would be changed with just $1,000 dollars if she wants to find something to do with her money. Maybe flint Michigan needs more funding for water, new affordable housing projects in major cities need renovation...etc. "Too much money" is an invention from somebody who has no vision.
Portfolio just crossed $100 of dividend paying stocks this week! It's a slow crawl, but buying daily is helping me take emotion out of trading and not worry about the up and down days as much. I havent received any dividends yet but I have a long time to get this going. If anybody in the US wants to get into the stock market, use my Robinhood link I'll be posting in my bio after this post goes up. Remember to do your own research before purchasing or selling any stocks. I'm hoping to reach 1-5k by the end of the year with the possibility of youtube videos as time goes on.
The other problem is when executive shareholders give themselves buybacks when the company is struggling, driving it closer to bankruptcy while they pocket the money for doing a piss poor job. Employees lose their livelihoods and shareholders lose their capital/retirements. Buybacks are not always bad but it is handled very poorly in many cases.
