Some moments stay with you forever.
For Joseph, his GivePower Trek to Nicaragua wasn’t just about installing a new solar system or bringing reliable electricity. It was about the new friendships that made the hard work worth it.
“One thing I’ll always cherish is how excited our host family was when David, Matt and I would get back to the house after our long days. I’ll never forget the image of the kids waiting on the stairs for us to come out of our rooms to play Uno or soccer with them until it was bedtime. I’d do the Trek all over again to play Uno or soccer with them one more time.”
That’s what a GivePower Trek is all about: connection, collaboration and helping communities shine even brighter. A big shoutout to @BirchCreek17 and FCM Services for making this happen!

In Madagascar’s Vatovavy Region, doctors and nurses were already saving lives—even without reliable energy for lights and lifesaving equipment. Despite their best efforts, caring for patients in this rural region was still challenging due to limited resources.
With solar power, that’s changing.
Together with @pivotmadagascar, we equipped 8 clinics with sustainable energy, transforming care for 120,902 lives. With reliable electricity, cold storage and safe light, clinic teams can care for patients around the clock.
This Solar Impact Project proves what’s possible: When communities have clean energy, they can build healthier futures 🌱
🌍 Faces of Impact: Meet Marcella 🌍
Marcella’s remarkable journey at GivePower started as a cleaner at a Solar Water Farm. Driven by curiosity, she quickly started learning about desalination systems and operations, participated in market storming activities and assisted with deliveries. It wasn’t long before she was promoted to cashier.
Her commitment and resilience have allowed Marcella to grow into her current role as Site Sales and Operations Manager in Bamburi. Today, she runs one of our best-performing Solar Water Farms, overseeing daily operations, monitoring performance and ensuring that systems run effectively to deliver safe, clean drinking water to the community.
Marcella also leads with empathy and inclusion. She helps her team thrive by mentoring junior staff on sales pitches, strengthening customer relationship management practices and turning feedback into action. She has even learned Sign Language to communicate seamlessly with Julius, a site hand staff who is Deaf. Their collaboration proves that true teamwork goes beyond words.
Marcella’s journey shows that with dedication and humility; individuals can keep reaching new heights at GivePower. We’re so grateful to have such an extraordinary leader in Marcella and can’t wait to see what she accomplishes next! 👏
Across 13 Solar Water Farms, our teams represent Kenya's rich diversity and cultural heritage. What brings us all together? Safe water for all. Happy Utamaduni Day! 🇰🇪

It’s National Do Something Nice Day, and what better way to celebrate than bringing clean energy to communities that need it most?
Last fall, Trekkers in Bhata, Nepal, helped build two solar-powered mills that turned a day-long expedition into a simple task that now takes only a few minutes. Thanks to reliable electricity, these mills are boosting the local economy, creating community gathering spaces and helping the Bhata community become more self-reliant and sustainable.

We thought we knew what to expect from a Trek... until Entukai Primary.
The school has long been a valued center of learning for the 2,500 residents of Oltepesi Village, Kenya. Day after day, teachers have given their all to students—even without electricity, a water system or secure fencing.
With Freedom Forever, something unforgettable happened here. Video coming soon.

“Last summer, I embarked on a life-changing journey to a small village in Colombia, where I joined a mission to bring light to a community that had lived in darkness for generations. Every day, we worked tirelessly under the blazing sun, piecing together solar panels with hands sore but hearts full of purpose. When we flipped the switch and the village lit up for the very first time, the air filled with laughter, tears, and a collective sense of wonder that I will never forget. Watching children dance in the glow of light they’d never known, I felt a deep connection to the power of human kindness and resilience. As I left, their gratitude and joy stayed with me, a reminder that even small acts of service can illuminate entire lives.”
