Congratulations to my Field Representative Manager, Abdoulaye Dieng, on his appointment to the Ohio New African Immigrants Commission by Governor DeWine.

Abdoulaye’s story is a true example of the American Dream. After immigrating to the United States from Mauritania as a teenager, he worked hard to build a life rooted in service to others. For more than five years, he has been an invaluable member of my team, representing our office across Franklin and Madison counties and building strong relationships with local leaders, businesses, veterans, and community organizations.

Abdoulaye has always led with integrity, professionalism, and a genuine desire to make Ohio stronger. I have no doubt he’ll bring those same qualities to the Commission, and I couldn’t be more proud to see him recognized with this appointment. Congratulations, Abdoulaye!

In January of 1968, Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. visited Ohio Northern University in Ada. While speaking with students, faculty and community members, he repeated the phrase: “We have come a long, long way, but we have a long, long way to go.”
