Sad news for the Zimbabwe Defence Forces. Brigadier-General (Rtd) Albert Jack Nyamuronda has passed away at the age of 67. He died on Defence Forces Day, 11 August 2026, at Chitungwiza General Hospital. May he rest in peace.

I am deeply saddened by the tragic boat accident on Lake Kariba on Monday, which has claimed the lives of 44 compatriots.

On behalf of the Government and the nation, I extend our deepest condolences to the grieving https://t.co/Fa4ivaJeCx ensure immediate relief, I have declared this mishap a National Disaster.

Relevant authorities are already on the ground providing full medical, funeral, and psychosocial support to the victims and survivors.Furthermore, I have ordered our maritime safety agencies and security forces to immediately overhaul and fix the deficiencies in our maritime capabilities.

H.E. President @edmnangagwa receives a courtesy call from the United Arab Emirates (UAE) Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Sheik Shakhbout bin Al Nahyan.

Trade between Zimbabwe and the United Arab Emirates has grown by an impressive 74 percent over the past two years, reflecting the strengthening economic relations between the two countries.

Briefing the media after meeting, the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Trade, Prof Amon Murwira, said the growth in trade was a positive indication of the deepening bilateral relations.

The Minister said Zimbabwe was looking forward to the completion of a partnership agreement with the UAE, which is expected to be concluded within the next few weeks.

He said the agreement will further consolidate cooperation between the two countries and create opportunities for increased trade, investment and economic partnerships.
