This week marks the start of “Pause for Feedback” week
"Pause for Feedback” is a University wide initiative and encourages academic staff to take time during your timetabled class to pause and reflect with you on how the module is progressing so far.
The University really values the student voice and “Pause for Feedback” gives you an important chance to have your say on your experience of the module so far – highlighting any areas that are going well and areas you think could be improved upon
Your module leader may decide to undertake this exercise via a GCU Learn survey, a Padlet link or simply via a post-it note discussion in the class – the approach will vary from module to module.
It also gives staff the opportunity to provide their feedback to the class on your overall performance and engagement with the module so far.
“Pause for Feedback” complements our more formal methods of gathering student feedback via Student Module Surveys and Student Partnership Forums and aligns to our ethos of working in partnership with the student body.
A strong student voice is important so we encourage students to engage with academic staff during the process.
The Discretionary and Childcare Funds are now open for Trimester A 💸
The Discretionary Fund supports current GCU home students who already receive maximum funding from SAAS or local education authority and are facing financial hardship, so if you're struggling to make ends meet then the fund is for you!
The Childcare Fund is also available to support students who require to pay for childcare during their studies👶
Applications are assessed on a case by case basis, and funds are awarded depending on individual circumstances. You can access application forms via the Student Portal 💻
Applications usually take up to 4 weeks to process, so please ensure you fill out the form and provide all appropriate supporting documents with your application to avoid any unexpected delays.
