Funny how it denies the continued existence of the two kingdoms but also admits it when convenient?!
Formally it denies this and would probably argue that it does not use the word kingdom in the legal sense, see Crawford and Boyle, various Parliamentary Committees and Court rulings. Re-read the Scottish Lord Advocate’s statement to the Supreme Court re the extinction of the two kingdoms of England and Scotland. (An utter falsehood as we know.)
There is a twist in this tail however because by the coloniser’s own logic (true up to a point):
1: The parties to the agreement were the states of England and Scotland via the Crown and Parliament of each nation. (True)
2. According to the treaty/agreement, these states were to merge, via the merger of the Crowns of Scotland and England, (both the sovereign authority of their realms), into one, single kingdom, (for which a single crown is necessary), and of their respective parliaments (not sovereign in Scotland), to form a separate and distinct crown with its own parliament. (True)
3. This did not happen, as you know, but the UK is now pinning everything on convincing the world that it did happen - no matter the evidence to the contrary. (False)
4. The coloniser insists the treaty vanished on ratification and the parties to that treaty no longer exist. (False)
5. The parties to the agreement are supposedly extinguished in law. But the failure to create a new, not-just-the-English crown (or kingdom therefore) means the Scottish Crown remains as a legal entity. (A fact buried deliberately in official gobbledegook.)
6. But the Scottish Crown still has no agency as its monarch is also the English monarch? Wrong! Charles isn’t lawful king of Scots but it would not matter if he were. The Crown of Scotland is the legal personality of the Community of the Realm (people/nation.
7. Thus the two sovereign authorities remain. Not the nations but the Crown institutions!

That is where popular sovereignty comes from and what entitles the people as the remaining party to the treaty to repudiate both a null instrument (treaty) and our annexation.
