Dear Europeans, while you are closely following the World Cup realize most Americans are watching the NBA Finals, baseball and preparing for fantasy football (NFL). We will turn our attention to soccer if our boys make a run. We will also act like we are huge fans and laugh if we beat you. However, if we lose at any point, we won’t think twice about it. We do hope all that traveled here has a great time and gets to experience our beautiful land.
"Everybody who has an mRNA injection will die within 3 to 5 years, even if they have had only one injection" said Delores Cahill
Well
I'm 5.5 years in...still going
Fox might have had the worst 13 seconds of basketball I’ve seen to close a game
1) zero points on a breakaway
2) uses their foul to give when the Knicks defense is set and Brunson is unlikely to get the ball
3) leaves OG to double Brunson and no effort to get a rebound. You can’t leave OG to double Brunson 30 feet away from the basket with Wemby on him
One of the least discussed stories of this World Cup and the horrible planning around it, is that the day of the final, Noah Kahan is playing a sold out show at Citi Field and Bon Jovi is playing a sold out show at MSG. The final is at 3:00. Adding in the new 30 minute halftime show, plus the trophy ceremony, will see the stadium empty around 6:30 (if no extra time). This will lead to both buses and trains back to the city…in the same direction as the concerts, which are both slated to start at 8:00, meaning that those who are going to the concerts will be intersecting with those leaving MetLife in the same direction.
Upwards of 100,000 more people than additionally considered will be riding public transportation that day, at the same exact time, heading in the same directions.
The #ncaa once had a rule allowing schools to provide student-athletes with fruit, nuts and bagels... but explicitly banned cream cheese for those bagels.
Now they can't even ban someone for betting on games.
Not that the NCAA was ever a serious organization but... ouch.
If the NCAA can't suspend Brendan Sorsby for gambling, can the NCAA suspend a player for targeting a defenseless player, say for instance Brendan Sorsby?
Asking non-Lubbock judges to weigh in here
The year is 2030. An Ohio State wide receiver has been caught on tape committing murder, arson and robbing a children’s hospital. He will serve a one-game suspension vs. Akron.
The NCAA was built like the tobacco companies. They knew the way they were running things was going to get eviscerated by the courts someday, but as long as they got theirs and got out, they didn't care about the future at all.
Brendan Sorsby, the House settlement, all of it can be traced back to the farce of amateurism in the face of an influx of broadcast riches.
Sooner or later there will be an epic betting scandal that breaks somewhere that brings a league to its knees. The only question is which sport. Sorsby just happened to get caught and admit to it. There's no way he's the only one given how widespread sports betting is now.
• 9000 different bets
• $90,000 wagered
• Betting on games he suited up for
• Willfully ignoring classes and meetings from 3 different institutions about the one cardinal sin in sports
But hey, find a local judge and convince him the kid will be really sad if he doesn’t get to play and none of that matters does it?
What a joke.
