I totally agree they need to know what really happens and what we really do. But I would say the need to spend more than a day.

Every politician should be required to spend one day in an elementary school, one day in a middle school, and one day in a high school before they can say what teachers can or can’t do.

And shadow during that day the principal, teachers, cafeteria, arts, nurse, librarian, etc.
