Alex Maier leads an incredible FOUR Americans under 60 minutes in the 2026 Houston Half Marathon, running 59:23 to become the second fastest U.S. man of all time.

Before last year, no race had seen two Americans go sub-60 at the same time, until Conner Mantz and Hillary Bor both cracked the barrier in NYC. Maier, Casey Clinger (59:34), Ryan Ford (59:48), and Isai Rodriguez (59:57) doubled that feat today.

Based on last year’s drawdown in valuations— and assuming the October lows were it— the great rate reset of 2022 has so far only produced a garden-variety bear market for equities. The “super bears” of 2000-02, 2007-09, 1929-32 & 1937-38 produced drawdowns that were significantly deeper and longer than what we’ve experienced so far this cycle.
