A landlord reached out and shared the actual documentation she received for a rental application. It listed guaranteed monthly income, support for a full year, and housing assistance. The total came out to more than many Canadians make working full time and far more than a lot of seniors are trying to live on.
This is not about blaming families.
They didn’t design the system.
It’s about transparency.
This is public money.
Canadians deserve to understand where it’s going and why the public story never seems to match what’s happening on the ground.
If we can’t talk openly about it, nothing gets better.
