I don't tweet much anymore but I'm reading The Actual Star by @monicabyrne13 and it is absolutely incredible! Friends, please buy this book and then talk with me about it!
Everyone who has responded to this with some kind of "Well, actually..." tweet needs to read at least one of Sloth's plays on @NewPlayX and then pitch it to at least five companies as penance

Y'all @slothlevine @phaedrasays and Jaymes Sanchez have each written glorious speculative plays as part of my thesis. Across these three plays, we have androids, drag kings, dystopian reality tv, and more! Click the link below to register!
In the past three days, I've seen @faaakefriends#circlejerklive, Downtown Crossing @company_one, and a @ShoshanaBean concert. Live performance is thriving this week y'all!
@slothlevine I don’t think most audiences know or care. Our institutions have just decided to give those reviews power when we could all just ignore that noise.
@slothlevine I would so much rather watch/work on a messy, ambitious play that both succeeds and fails in equal measure instead of something small, manageable, and safe.
@slothlevine The American theatre's obsession with world premieres is such an obstacle. Everyone is scared to produce something before it's "ready" because if the first production isn't well received, it's almost impossible to land other productions (even if the writer wants to make edits)
