This is an astonishing thread: Please read every word. It outlines how the Trump administration has systematically and repeatedly lied about its use of force in Chicago. I don't know what the remedy is, but if federal agents assault civilians, shouldn't they be held accountable?
Keep this in mind when people claim cars mean business — closing Central #Madrid to cars over holidays resulted in a 9.5% boost in retail spending on its main shopping street: STUDY.
There was also a 71% drop in air pollution.

Meanwhile: Great Britain sets new wind generation record supplying 43.6% of all power in the system last week: 3/4 of Britain’s homes were effectively running on wind alone
So many said, and still say, it can't be done. Except it's getting done.

Extraordinary words by Sir John Major on #Brexit at LSE last night: 🧵 🇬🇧 🇪🇺
1. “In an act of collective folly, the United Kingdom voted to lead to European Union across the world, our enemies celebrated and our friends despair.”
“We left Europe on a minority vote of 37% of the election after a referendum campaign that was packed with misinformation and misjudgment, it left our country poorer, weaker and divorced from the richest free trade market that history has ever seen. National interest was brushed aside by false hopes and promises”.
“False hopes and promises that even a cabinet dominated by front line Brexit enthusiasts was unable to deliver the promises they made, […] while the forecast damage of leaving the European Union has become only too apparent. The nation saw Project Fear become Project Reality very easily. It's no consolation that the majority of the public now overwhelmingly recognizes that it was mislead in their moments of triumph.”
“Brexiteers predicted other countries would follow their lead and leave the European Union. None have. All saw only too clearly that Brexit was packed with disadvantages, as we meet far from others leaving the European Union, as we meet nine further nations now wish to join the European Union, which is an apt comment on how the world saw Britain's decision.”
“United Kingdom once reveled, not long ago, within the memory of everyone present in this room, once reveled in being a leading member of the European Union with half a billion citizens and the undoubted first ally of the United States, the world's most eminent superpower. Today, we know we are neither, and so does the world”.
I got shot at serving our country in combat, and I was there when your boss sent a violent mob to attack the Capitol. I know the difference between defending our Constitution and an insurrection, even if you don’t.

Big rewilding news: The Prairie State of Illinois has just passed America’s first ‘Rewilding Bill’, with broad bipartisan support. Illinois is one of the most ecologically altered and degraded states in America, with less than 1% of its landscapes in any kind of natural state.
The new law grants powers to the Illinois Department of Natural Resources (DNR) to implement rewilding, including the restoration of land to its natural state, reintroduction of native plant and animal species, and the restoration of ecological processes. The law particularly encourages the reintroduction of apex predators and keystone species.

Solar in Pakistan is one example of the global solar boom and why petrostate politicos are freaking out.
Solar is doing more to address energy poverty than any other energy source.
High costs of fossil fuels still cripple poor nations.

Happening NOW in Belgium:
An absolutely MASSIVE wave of protesters floods the streets of Brussels for Palestine, denouncing Israel’s genocide in Gaza.
Will mainstream Western media even show you this?

Unthinkable 20 years ago when I started to work on energy:
The world may finally be hitting peak coal, as wind, solar and hydro continue to grow and will overtake coal generation perhaps already in 2026.
