REPORT: The Taliban regime continues to restrict women’s education, detain women, and suppress demonstrations. Meanwhile, UN Security Council reports have consistently documented that more than 20 terrorist groups remain active in Afghanistan, specifically naming Al-Qaeda, TTP, BLA, ISIL-K, ETIM/TIP, the Islamic Movement of Uzbekistan (IMU), and Jamaat Ansarullah.

Five years on, Taliban rule remains defined by repression at home and the continued sponsorship of terrorist groups.

MONITORING: The Afghanistan Freedom Front (AFF) said its forces clashed with the Taliban in Zebak District, Badakhshan, after Taliban forces attacked AFF positions. The fighting lasted around two hours, with AFF claiming its counterattack forced the Taliban to retreat and inflicted casualties and material losses.

ANALYSIS: Al-Mirsad is selling another polished myth of Taliban strength, while the facts on the ground continue to expose the limits of that claim

“Absolute offensive phase”? That boast sounds ridiculous when the Taliban’s own leadership keeps warning that internal divisions could bring the regime down.

Resistance groups still penetrate Taliban security in Badakhshan and kill their senior officials. Moreover, during the October 2025 and February 2026 clashes with Pakistan, Afghan forces abandoned border posts and later depended on local elders to help restore access after ceasefires.

Now their propagandists sit behind screens declaring “offensive dominance” on the basis of claims they cannot independently verify.

A regime struggling to secure its own leadership, ranks and frontier is not demonstrating intelligence supremacy. It is trying to hide weakness behind louder propaganda.

NEWS ALERT: Police Constable Sifatullah was injured after unidentified terrorists opened fire on him while he was on his way to duty in Bannu District, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. He was shifted to Khalifa Gul Nawaz Hospital for treatment. DPO Bannu Capt. (R) Muhammad Furqan Bilal visited the injured officer at the hospital, while police launched a search operation to apprehend the attackers.

BEWARE: COUNT THE FACTS, NOT TERRORIST CLAIMS

Independent data indicates that around 50% of TTP's claimed attacks could not be independently verified. Its casualty claims also differ significantly from independent monitoring: The records only 19% of the security personnel fatalities claimed by TTP, while another independent tracker recorded an even lower figure.

Such discrepancies reflect an effort to project operational strength, attract funding and support, and strengthen the group's propaganda narrative.

Terrorist claims should therefore be treated as claims until independently verified
