Malawi’s President Lazarus Chakwera has appointed daughter to serve in the country’s embassy in Brussels.
Now Chakwera is facing uncomfortable questions about his campaign promise to end nepotism, something he accused ex-pres Mutharika of when he appointed relatives as diplomats
We will not keep quite just because parliament rejected the motion to discuss the TOP bill, infact this just makes us more angry, sad and powers us to keep on fighting until we victims of rape are protected @chavulaj@UNFPAMalawi@SheDecides_MW@cbpolis@SAAFfund@YoungWHong
Thanks @FOCESE_Malawi for giving us opportunity to discuss with key members of parliament yesterday on Termination of Pregnancy Bill. Honourable Matthews Ngwale, assured us he will table the bill on March 11. @SheDecides_MW@UNFPAMalawi@AliceChiwaya1 @lazzyTani @JulianaLunguzi

There is no point to put much funds on awareness meetings when we are failing to support same victims to go back to school and remain in class. It's time we survivors of SGBV are given full support @UNFPAMalawi@unwomenmalawi@PlanMalawi@OxfamMalawi @MalawiUNICEF @undpmalawi
We have many girls who are survivors of child marriages and child mother's & other vulnerable we encouraged to go back to school in Balaka, Malawi. Now selected to go to secondary schools but have nothing to support them, just staying home now for failing to raise school fees.
@YoungWHong Thanks @YoungWHong , we also appreciate the support UNFPA is providing to us young women and the youth at large on SRHR issues, creating space for us to articulate issues that affect us and building movements that defend young women rights in Malawi
As an advocate of @FOCESE_Malawi am not ashamed to say I was once defiled, denied abortion, got baby & married at 15 years, then being beaten daily by the so called husband. Let us survivors be on front in ending GBV @unwomenmalawi@anyangwe4@YoungWHong@IngaDoraP @juergenborsch
@FOCESE_Malawi@IngaDoraP@YoungWHong@UNFPAMalawi@IrlEmbMalawi @juergenborsch @daveghbeer Our leaders should understand how defiled girls or raped young women feel when we are impregnated by someone who we never chose to. Our choices should be respected without stumbling blocks. TOP Bill is our women right @EisenhowerMkaka @nancygtembo @HonKandodo @SostenGwengwe
The issue about Termination of Pregnancy (TOP Bill) in Malawi is neither religious or political, it's about women rights. Victims of sexual abuses must have the right to choose to have baby or not @IngaDoraP@YoungWHong@UNFPAMalawi@IrlEmbMalawi @juergenborsch @daveghbeer
