Antacids are another group of medications commonly used in those suffering with acid reflux. They work by neutralising the acid produced in the stomach. They are widely available at supermarkets and pharmacies🏥

Nutritional food yeast is a great source (when fortified) of B12.
B12 is important for the healthy nerve and blood cells. It is mainly found in animal products, so if you’re following a vegetarian or vegan diet, then fortified nutritional yeast is a superstar ingredient! ⭐️

Have you been prescribed a PPI (proton-pump inhibitor) by your doctor for acid reflux?💊👩🏽⚕️
PPIs prevent certain cells in the stomach from releasing acid. They work a little slower than other reflux medications but provide a longer, lasting relief.
Studies show that fluctuating hormones during peri/menopause have an effect on gut movement (our gut can slow down significantly especially when levels are low!) This may result in gut problems, including constipation🥴
Nutrition changes can be very helpful in relieving bothering gut symptoms, including constipation!💩
A high-fibre diet, along with staying hydrated, is key for regulating our bowel habits 🚽
If you start to increase fibre in your diet, do it slowly to avoid any gut distress!
Are gluten-free grains better in peri/menopause than ‘standard’ wheat-containing options? 🧐
…nope! Unless you’ve have coeliac disease, or a gluten intolerance diagnosed by a health professional, avoiding gluten-containing foods isn't necessary!😊
Changes during perimenopause can be lonely😕
