“Surveyors who oversee the projects make 8-10% commission. Managing agents take a further 2-4% cut. @RendallRittner stands to earn as much as £20-40million”
How can it ever be acceptable for anyone to profit from this crisis when so many face bankruptcy?
#EndOurCladdingScandal
Walk with us on Saturday 14 June for the 8th anniversary.
8 years on. No arrests. No justice.
The tower is a stark reminder of what happened that night but the government has decided it's time to bring it down.

@sw_help your service is getting worse and worse - trains to and from London Waterloo are delayed, arrive with short formation or cancelled. And yet prices have just risen by over 5%. If you send 2/3 of a train, do I pay 2/3 of the price? @monicabeharding
@AngelaRayner@mhclg There are tens of thousands of existing homes that are unsafe due to cladding and other building safety defects. Surely these need to be prioritised. When will you make developers fix these? We’ve been living with them for 5+ years now putting lives on hold #BuildingSafetyCrisis
The building safety scandal is Far. From. Over.
📺📻📰🗣️ But the public only know that if they keep hearing our stories.
🙏 Thank you to every single journalist who continued to shine a light on this scandal in 2024.
🏆 But there can only be one winner of our annual award...👇
❌ There is nothing on non-cladding defects, nothing for non-qualifying leaseholders, nothing for leaseholders in buildings under 11m, nothing for shared owners, nothing on extortionate buildings insurance, and nothing on the useless waking watch in this plan.
📢 @UKLabour has announced its Cladding Remediation Acceleration Plan.
The "plan" looks extremely disappointing. Innocent leaseholders and residents across the country need and deserve much more.

📢 @CommonsPAC has launched an inquiry into the remediation of dangerous cladding.
It will scrutinise the Government's response to the crisis and whether it has used public money effectively and efficiently.

@mtpennycook I am still stuck with a flat with fire issues due to the #BuildingSafetyCrisis 5 years after they were identified. Still no timelines for remediation. And if I sell, it’s for a huge loss. When will the government step in to help the 000s of #leaseholders affected?
And where is the regulator?
Where is the Minister?
Do they support this approach or not?
What will they do about it?
Silence on public safety is simply unacceptable!
@vicwhittamITV We are still waiting 4 years on for work to start to remediate our block - which wasn’t legal when it was first built in 2000 due to missing fire breaks and flammable cladding. The #BuildingSafetyCrisis is an absolute calamity.
Olivia Hill from Sheffield, who had to pay for someone to supervise her flat, because cladding on the tower block was found to be flammable, says she's still waiting for it's removal. Today the results of the Grenfell Tower Fire inquiry are expected to be published.
🗨️ “I work as a paramedic and I’ve gone to quite a few building fires. A lot of them are under 11 metres. I don’t really agree that 11 metre buildings are a lot safer"
❗Thomas is asked to find £50,000 to fund critical fire safety repairs to his building

🔴 Today we think about the 72 people who died on 14 June 2017, their loved ones & the Grenfell community.
The inquiry report lays bare successive governments' failure to protect people. Industry profits were prioritised over safety.
We now demand justice and meaningful change.
We urge @UKLabour to forward fund all necessary fire safe remediation works & pursue those responsible to reimburse the public purse @mtpennycook
All victims of fire & building safety crisis need to be compensated for these systemic failures.

Thank you @bbcmtd for highlighting the plight of Birmingham residents still waiting for their homes to be made safe seven years after Grenfell #BuildingSafetyCrisis#EndOurCladdingScandal https://t.co/XVkOBxaQwB
🔴 Our thoughts are with everyone impacted by the fire in Dagenham this morning.
The number one priority is that all affected residents are safe and well and get the support and answers they need.
Action to make our homes safe remains urgent - and the pace must accelerate.
This is the risk hundreds of thousands of us live with!
The Government, fire service, local authorities & building owners continue to treat fire safety defects with so little urgency!
