Well, the weekend ended as it started...engine blown on camper, big end on spider gone ππ #expensiveweekend#fortheloveofthesport supercar fest Northampton was great in spite of this, if you've not been, well worth a visit...
If youβre remotely into cars follow them @GnspiderII - a car that someone today described to me today as βA 100 mile an hour galvanised bath tub propelled by two overpowered chain sawsβ
This is still such a thing.
Spider II: built for @shelsleywalsh during the war and now maintained and loved by three generations of the Spencer family.
2.2 litre V-Twin on methanol, driven like the wind, externally lubricated and with its own account @GnspiderII
Wonderful.
Season started with practice day @shelsleywalsh today. Conversion to methanol was smooth but front axel was jumping around...turned out front dampner had snapped so early home ππ @AvonTyres see you 6th May!
A great Test Day for everyone here today with sunshine and a dry track π
Tomorrow weβll do it all again but this time all against the clock for class honours π
Tickets online, on the gate or free for all 2023 MAC members βπΌ

Here's Mother re-stringing Gnspider2 steering wheel, 20 years after she first did it. Another 20 years out of this one please Mom π€#vintagehillclimb@shelsleywalsh
Spider 2 running on methanol for the first time in 20 + years, video doesn't do it justice; it sounds amazing. Hopefully have the jetting roughly nailed and a fine tune at practice day @shelsleywalsh the sticky @AvonTyres should cope with the extra power #britishhillclimb#meth
Made the cover of 2023 events calendar, a great pic by Jamie Bufton.
If you're about, you can see us on 15 Apr for practice, hopefully 6th May and more @shelsleywalsh
20 & 21st May @supercarfest Sywell Aerodrome
Hill Climb Car Close Ups.
Spider II. Run by the Spencer family and driven so well by Martin Spencer, the second car that was built by Basil Davenport during the war is well and truly alive, going well and still fast at Shelsley Walsh.
