I understand the frustrations here, and Manuel deserves some heat for it, but both brought Natty’s to Michigan. Those last forever. I’m not mad. Thanks for the banners!
Warde Manuel is now 0-for-2 in extending coaches he says he's going to extend after national titles.
Somehow, even after all of what's gone on, that is his legacy.
Also re: Yzerman, a lot of Larkin’s tenure was the tear down and rebuild, and then trying to force a fringe playoff run before most of the prospects picked in said rebuild were ready. So I agree Yzerman is also to blame. But Larkin signed up for 8 years knowing where they were in the rebuild. Not sure how that isn’t quitting on the team 🤷🏻♂️ (respectfully)
.@AdamWylde it’s not Larkin’s numbers that are the problem. It’s that most of those numbers come before March where he disappears. He is as much to blame as anyone on the ice. Yzerman may not have helped much, but it’s more nuanced than “well, he scored 30 goals a year…”
The games are meaningless in the era of the playoff. In the same way that the NFL doesn’t have division championship games to determine a winner before the playoffs. That’s what the regular season is for.
Bryce has been with this staff for 3 months. We’re barely removed from him playing games under a regime that didn’t have a dedicated QB coach. They’re implementing a new system and very obviously kept the playcalling extremely vanilla. Not to mention very leaky pass protection. I have questions, sure, but I do not for the life is me understand why people are wholly freaking out. Did they not watch that OSU and Texas games? You’re not going to fix those problems in 3 weeks of Spring practice and one quarter of a scrimmage. He’s still 4 months away from turning 19 lol
Totally with Michelle here.
@DetroitRedWings@familyheatingmi The roster may not be top 5 in the league, so it’s understandable they lose some games, but it’s the lack of heart for me. No urgency when they need it the most.
@JoshHenschke For depth? Felt like things were feeling settled with Moore and Young coming back. Not to mention the other additions that could provide some flexibility there.
Multiple things can be true:
- Justice Haynes is a phenomenal RB who was elite for U-M when healthy. I’ll root for him wherever he goes (though I certainly hope it ends up being the ACC as rumored and not B1G)
- I 100% agree w/ how U-M handled the RB room the past few weeks
