Change of Venue
Due to the rains, the venue for Patrick Mukabi’s candle-lighting evening has been moved from Kuona Artists' Collective to the National Museums of Kenya Amphitheatre. The event will take place today, Wed 29 April, from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm.

On Wednesday, 29th April 2026, from 4:00PM to 9:00PM at the same venue, a candle lighting evening will be held, featuring tributes, music, live streaming, and a screening in honour of his life and work.
All are welcome to come together and celebrate a life that touched many.
Remembrance of Patrick Mukabi
A bonfire memorial celebration will take place on Tue, 28 April, from 4pm at @KuonaArtists. Friends, family, & the wider community are welcome to share memories &inspirations. A mural painting session will also take place.
Beyond his own practice, Mukabi’s influence is deeply felt across a generation of artists whom he mentored over the years. His legacy lives on! Rest in peace, Panye!

We remember Patrick as a long-experienced artist known for his deft hand at light and shadow. This is portrayed in his colourful paintings of women at work in Nairobi.

Today’s breakfast highlighted how Kenya and Sweden are working together to promote sustainable commercial forestry, industrial timber processing, and champion large‑scale building with renewable materials.
