Who’s taking home the $4K? 👀
#WCFantasy
Some team projections on Statz I’ve found very useful for my WC Fantasy planning.
Focusing on MD1&2:
🇪🇨 Ecuador top 3 defence - double up viable?
🇺🇾 Uruguay top 6 defence - underlooked?
🇨🇭 Swiss top 6 attack - punt on Embolo/Vargas?
See it all here:

I’ve made a bumper friendlies roundup from the last couple of days with all the key notes!
👉🏻Colombia 3-1 Costa Rica:
Luis Diaz ($8.1m) managed a goal + assist in 74 minutes.
James Rodriguez ($6.5m) assisted a Luis Suarez ($5.7m) goal late on after both were subbed on at HT.
Davinson Sanchez ($4.3m) scored a great header off a Luis Diaz corner in the first half.
Johan Mojica ($3.9m) and goalkeeper Camilo Vargas ($4.3m) both started and played 74 mins.
👉🏻Austria 1-0 Tunisia:
Marcel Sabitzer ($6.8m) scored the only goal of the game and took every corner.
Defender Stefan Posch ($4.3m) managed an assist and also missed a big chance.
Christoph Baumgartner ($6.7m) sadly pulled out of the warmup due to injury.
- Tackle bonus: Schlager
👉🏻 Norway 3-1 Sweden
Julian Ryerson ($4.2m) managed two assists, created a whopping 8 chances and took every corner whilst on the pitch. Very impressive for a defender!
Jorgen Strand Larsen ($5.6m) took his chance in Haaland’s absence, hitting two goals.
Antonio Nusa ($6.1m) scored and had a great game. Could be a nice differential midfield option in MD1.
Alexander Isak ($8m) coming off the bench to score was about the only plus point in a poor game for Sweden.
- Tackle bonus: Johansson
- SOT bonus: Strand Larsen
👉🏻Turkey 4-0 North Macedonia
Turkey rotated heavily in this game.
Usual starter Orkun Kokcu (€6m) did start and manage a goal, whilst Baris Alper Yilmaz ($6.1m) scored off the bench.
- Tackle Bonus: Uzun
👉🏻 Brazil 6-2 Panama
Vinicius Jr ($10m) and Casemiro ($6.3m) both managed a goal + assist in the first half.
Igor Thiago ($5.9m) and Lucas Paqueta ($6.5m) both managed a goal + assist off the bench.
Thiago scored a penalty that he earned in the second half. Vini/Raphinha were both off the pitch when he did take
Raphinha ($8.2m) played the first half with no returns, but did managed the tackle bonus (3 tackles).
Bruno Guimaraes ($6.8m) took the only corner of the first half, ahead of Raphinha.
- Tackle bonus: Raphinha
- (Big) Chance created bonus: Paqueta x2
- SOT Bonus: Endrick, Rayan, I. Thiago
👉🏻USA 3-2 Senegal
Christian Pulisic ($7m) managed a goal + assist in the first half! He also took the only corner.
Sadio Mane ($7.6m) scored both the goals in what was a full strength Senegal attack for around 60 minutes.
Folarin Balogun ($6m) came off the bench to score and hit 3 shots on target (+1 point).
Malik Tillman ($6.1m) also had a decent cameo off the bench, creating 1 big chance and hitting the tackle bonus (3 tackles).
- Tackle bonus: Tillman, Berhalter
- SOT bonus: Balogun
👉🏻Germany 4-0 Finland
Goals and great minutes for both Jamal Musiala ($8m) and Florian Wirtz ($7.5m) in an emphatic win.
Joshua Kimmich ($5.6m) managed an assist and created 4 chances (2 big chances) from defence. Ridiculous potential as an asset.
Kimmich did share a few corners with Lennart Karl ($4.8m), who also managed an assist.
Deniz Undav ($6.6m) managed 2 goals, 1 assist + 4 shots on target (+2 pts) before sadly coming off injured after 61 mins.
- SOT bonus: Undav x2
👉🏻Switzerland 4-1 Jordan
Both Granit Xhaka ($6.2m) and Breel Embolo ($7.5m) took and scored a penalty, interestingly with Embolo taking the first and then winning the second for Xhaka to take.
Dan Ndoye ($6.8m) also scored and continues to perform for the national team.
Silvan Widmer ($4.2m) was benched in a strong looking starting lineup. Nico Elvedi ($4.3m) did start and played 45 minutes.
- Big chance created bonus: Jashari
- Tackle bonus: Freuler
- SOT Bonus: Embolo
👉🏻Canada 2-0 Uzbekistan
Maxine Crepeau ($4m) starts ahead of Dayne St Clair ($3.8m in goal but the latter comes on at HT.
- Tackle bonus: Fayzullayev
If you’ve made it all this way then I congratulate you 😂
Thought I’d make this roundup similar to my bonus point posts, as I thought the graphic I trialed was a bit too congested!
Thanks for reading along and hopefully it was helpful!

The one you’ve been waiting for ✅
Here is the Talisman from ALL 48 teams at the World Cup 👨✈️
Including their position, price, ownership, set piece duties and team strength 💪
*Choices are subjective, many teams have multiple viable attackers
An update on the MD1 + MD2 Projected goals and Clean sheets per Spreadex. International football is generally a major coin toss so I plan to share similar data from a team strength model to illustrate how wide the error bars can be.
🇪🇨 Ecuador, 🇨🇦 Canada, 🇲🇽 Mexico interest.
This player is only 0.6% owned but ranks TOP4 for expected points in MD1 according to @TheFantasyTool_
Let's look at why models like Christoph Baumgartner so much, and why he's in my team too.
Austria vs Jordan is one of the most lopsided fixtures of MD1. Austria are expected to dominate possession, territory and shot volume, while Jordan will likely spend long periods defending deep. Austria are also generally viewed as one of the strongest pressing and transition teams outside the elite tier.
Even if Baumgartner's output for Austria look meh on paper, models often weight club data much more heavily because the sample size is larger and more predictive. Baumgartner ranks second among Europe's midfielders for xG+xA combined, behind only Bruno Fernandes.
He's arguably the player who benefits most from both Austria's strengths and Jordan's weaknesses. He wins second balls, attacks space after turnovers, makes late box runs and regularly arrives in goalscoring positions as a second striker. Against weaker opponents, those actions tend to occur more often because the stronger side generates so many attacks.
Anyone who watched Jordan's recent matches will have noticed how often they lose the ball in the first phase under pressure. Facing them with one of Europe's most active players for positional recoveries in dangerous areas is a pretty appealing matchup.
Scouting bonus also looks very achievable at just 0.6% ownership.

🇪🇨 Ecuador conceded just 2️⃣ goals and lost 1️⃣ game in the WC qualifying campaign last year…
They recorded TEN CLEAN SHEETS and finished 2nd in their group, above Brazil.
They start their World Cup aginst Ivory Coast and Curacao.
This is the prices of their defence in WCF…
Looks like some VERY solid options here!
*Hincapie + Pacho are yet to be added
World Cup Fantasy corners analysis:
🇵🇹Portugal play Congo, the team conceding the most corners in Africa. Nuno Mendes has taken only 3 fewer corners than Bruno Fernandes, yet nobody is really talking about it enough.
🇧🇪 Maxim De Cuyper plays for a very corners-heavy Belgium side. He took 11 corners for the national team over the season, a solid number, just completely overshadowed by De Bruyne's absurd volume. Still I expect him to take more with KDB's fitness still uncertain.
🇲🇦 If Morocco lose to Brazil, Hakimi becomes even better for MD2/3. Morocco then face the teams with the highest combined corner concessions, and Hakimi is on corners from both sides. MD3/4 could be huge for territorial dominance.
🇸🇪 Daniel Svensson (DEF!) & Yasin Ayari are Sweden's main corner takers. Mentioning them because somehow I've barely seen them included in set-piece threads.
🇧🇪 Kevin De Bruyne & 🇨🇴 James Rodríguez are elite picks for Set-Play xG creation. I am not really comfortable going without them. Feels like they’ll find a way to return points every single game.
🇨🇿 Czechia are also extremely corners-heavy. Coufal takes the majority, but it's worth noting that a large share is evenly distributed among 4 other players too. Krejci remains the main receiver regardless of how many aerial threats they have.

Expected Cleans for MD1 + MD2 of the World Cup:
🇨🇴 Colombia, 🇨🇭 Switzerland, 🇫🇷 France all quite good for value here. I'd go heavier on French defence than attack just because other big nations have higher xG.
Will still have Mbappe and Gabriel though 😂
No need to anymore!
@FPL_TomHadley has saved us all (like usual) with this amazing graphic!
