@robyndoolittle Who knew what and when? Hypothesis: the team very likely had a group chat where details of this sordid event were shared. If known by the whole team why wasn’t it reported to the Authorities by any of the Members of the Team? What if EM was your sister ffs?
@ian_mendes Seriously Ian. You can’t watch a hockey game without the gambling adds embedded content in the broadcast. More and more there are replays which can’t be watched due to ads. The next epidemic has been unleashed on our youth. Ads should have been banned.
@ian_mendes Not sure how many young people in your life Ian. I have coached many ‘02-‘05s. They all bet. I expect it to be a chronic addiction similar to vaping and previously smoking.
Central Bridge is lit up orange in recognition of the National Day for Truth & Reconciliation.
The day honours the children who never returned home and Survivors of residential schools, as well as their families and communities.
@ianhanomansing Not sure how much of a problem drinking is for Canadians. If you want to tackle an epidemic consider students vaping. It is creating the next generation of addicts.
@hockeynight The advertising is embedded in the programming too. Odds are part of the intermission broadcast. Might as well be smoking with a drink of whisky on air.
@SpeakerPelosi January 23, 1923 two Canadians Banting & Best were awarded the American patents for insulin. They sold the patent to the University of Toronto for $1 each. Banting said: “Insulin does not belong to me, it belongs to the world.”Everyone who needs access to Insulin should have it.
The Ontario government says it has no choice but to pass a bill preventing a strike, because kids need to be in school so they can grow up, get jobs, and have their Charter rights taken away.
Why do some politicians never mention the 45,662 Canadians who died of COVID? Or their families? As if they are not victims of the pandemic? Or the healthcare workers who worked over-time under brutal conditions and risked their own families health? 🤔
It is one thing to say that those in charge of Hockey Canada should remain. It is arrogant and insulting to suggest that hockey in Canada, never mind the organization, would fall apart if they were replaced.
"Leave us alone" is the reason to do the opposite.
What this statement conspicuously ignores is that organizations like Hockey Canada and USA Hockey are almost always buoyed by tireless efforts from volunteers and those at grassroots level, as well as lower level staff members who grind with little pay/time off etc
If I were the health minister of a province in which several thousand good RN positions went unfilled, one thing I would do is gather as many departing nurses as I could survey and ask them why they left.
