Summer means more time spent on the water. Please keep safety top of mind around Hydro's dams and reservoirs. Obey signs, avoid areas upstream or downstream of hydroelectric facilities, and be aware that water levels can change quickly!
Have you seen this wonderful watercolour of the lighthouse in Rocky Harbour painted by Les from one of my photographs. For more of his great art I encourage you to follow him at @lgvd
My fav backpack trip of all times. 20 years ago, so no cell, no GPS, no good camera either! Long Range Traverse, Gros Morne NP. @GoGrosMorne@ParksCanadaNL
Last night the sunset had these Tuckamore trees drenched in orange as the sun was setting over the ocean. These trees can be seen all along the coast and are actually windswept evergreen trees battered constantly by prevailing winds off the ocean.
A young Red Fox out enjoying the morning sun. The warm weather brings out all the animals in the Park again. We do not see many of them during the winter months.
The famous NEWFIE BULLET now in a museum in Corner Brook. In the olden days of transportation it took 24 hours to cross the island on this train. Many men used to get on the train here and go to St. John’s and back just to play poker for a few days away from their wives.
Number 60 - Score 836. One of the beautiful sunsets seen in our harbour almost every day here in the summer. This one was enhanced by both the clouds and calm water reflecting everything.
