Not every breast cancer story begins with a lump. For some families, it starts with a pattern: a mother, an aunt, or a sister diagnosed at a young age. During #BreastCancerAwarenessMonth, we are highlighting the role hereditary risk can play & why knowing it early matters.

Our final #KnowYourRisk video examines MMS22L & BIK, two emerging genes still under study. Dr. Helfand explains why these findings are best considered alongside other important factors.

Thank you for following along as we help make prostate cancer a little easier to understand.

[GoPath Diagnostics @GoPathLabs]

This installment of #KnowYourRisk covers MMS22L & BIK, two emerging genes in #prostatecancer research where the evidence is still developing. Dr. Helfand emphasizes why these results call for caution, & why neither should be treated as a stand-alone, management-changing finding.

[GoPath Diagnostics @GoPathLabs]

This installment of #KnowYourRisk covers HSD3B1, a gene tied to how the body responds to hormone therapy rather than inherited cancer risk. Dr. Helfand explains why this result matters most if hormone therapy becomes part of your treatment plan, as it may offer more insight.

[GoPath Diagnostics @GoPathLabs]

The next #KnowYourRisk video shifts focus to HSD3B1, a gene tied not to hereditary risk but to hormone sensitivity & ADT response. Dr. Helfand explains why this result is best understood as a hormone-response marker rather than a stand-alone treatment driver.

This week's #KnowYourRisk tackles a phrase that can sound alarming: "lethal prostate cancer genes." Dr. Helfand explains that a result here doesn't mean your cancer is automatically dangerous, it means certain findings may signal your case deserves closer attention.

[GoPath Diagnostics @GoPathLabs]

The latest in #KnowYourRisk with Dr. Helfand focuses on germline findings tied to genes associated with higher risk for potentially lethal prostate cancer. Dr. Helfand explains why these results carry weight for new patients, since they may signal more concerning disease biology.

[GoPath Diagnostics @GoPathLabs]

In this installment of Know Your Risk, Dr. Helfand explains what it means if your genetic result involves a DNA repair gene, information that's often tied to PARP inhibitors & advanced treatment, but can matter much earlier too.

Kidney stones, bladder health, prostate concerns... how much do you actually know about urologic health? September is #UrologyAwarenessMonth, a good reminder to check in on a part of health that often gets overlooked. Staying informed & proactive matters at every age!

What would make it easier for men to talk about their health?

Talking about #ProstateHealth still comes with a lot of hesitation for a lot of men. Sometimes it's not about access to care; it's about being at ease enough to bring it up. Your insight might be what someone needs.

[GoPath Diagnostics @GoPathLabs]

#KnowYourRisk: Clinical Insights with Dr. Helfand continues with PARP inhibitor response genes & others involved in DNA damage repair. Helfand explains that these genes are often associated with late-stage therapy, but their relevance starts much earlier.

Next on our #KnowYourRisk series, Dr. Helfand answers a question many patients ask after genetic testing: What does this result mean for me? He explains that a genetic result is not a diagnosis, but rather a piece of info that helps personalize your care.
