Had a quick chat with a hero in Radiohead legend Ed O'Brien on Saturday in Leeds where he was talking about his incredible new record Blue Morpho. Give it a whirl, it is beautiful. Hope the Bank Holiday has been kind to you.
Was yesterday our highest margin win over Saints in SL? I recall a heavy score in the Challenge Cup in 2017 and hitting fifty, but I only ever remember us winning by a point here or there generally on the rare occasions we've turned them over?
@Saintbarca Sorry for the slow reply! I was also missing yesterday as I was at a gig in Leeds, typical! I think it was just a blip on your part but we'll take it. How is Leipzig treating you mate?
I'm not sure if "fun" or "nice" is the right word, but I spoke to Rob on Real Class podcast about the 2006 Million Pound Game and rewatched it for the first time twenty years later.
Have a listen here for a lovely trip down memory lane.
A big day for Sam Wood, Castleford's most forgetable captain, celebrating scoring his 26th minute match winning try in front of the away end while eventually going on to lose the game in the second half.
Watching an aggressive, mobile pack cause us trouble with offloads - in what world is either Graecan or Hall a better option than Ashworth? Is it a behind the scenes thing? Dupree and Ashworth surely are the sort of props an SL team in 2026 needs...
Imagine standing in front of hundreds of people telling them you're "a gooner" live on national television and that's not even in the top five worst things that has happened to you this week
'Where we need vision, we have a vacuum...' No that is not Wes Streeting describing himself. It's Streeting taking a pop at Starmer! Kettles sometimes see pots when they look in the mirror.
If Wes Streeting genuinely believes he is the answer to any of the nations' problems, I dread to think what those questions are. Using this uncertainty for a bid to become PM, personal ambition ahead of national interest - they must all be as deluded as Apprentice candidates.
I get that we need a mix of youth and experience, but I'm baffled what Mason Lino offers us not just as a signing but as to any intent on where we go. Is he a stop gap? Is he the future? Is he better than Asi/Weaver/Windley?
Feels risky having half your spine in their mid 30s.
One thing I can't help feel confused about with Cas is the sort of...all over the shop approach with recruitment. In 2022 we signed a load of old players and then spent 24/25 bringing the age down with the lowest age, and now we've signed or are linked with 33/35 year olds.
