Open today! ‘Mazinbii’igewigamig II’ is a collaborative exhibition by artists from diverse Indigenous nations Their aim is to use decolonizing art practices to navigate and reclaim an Indigenized space within a Western institution. Reception will be on Thursday, March 21 at 12pm!
‘Mazinishin’ by Kristin Flattery opened today! In the words of the artist: Mazinishin is an Anishinaabemowin word for ‘imprinted.’ This exhibition shares painful documented stories of intergenerational trauma experienced by the artist, her Anishinaabeg people, and her ancestors.
Here’s something a little different 😊 Today, the CanU Explore Art program is showcasing work completed by their students in this year’s class. CanU Explore Art is an art program for kids, with classes taking place at the University of Manitoba as part of the wider CanU program.
