Stephen Sauers is set to make his TA2 Pro Am debut at VIR this September, driving the No. 47 Ford Mustang. Sauers already knows his way around this track, having won the Hoosier Super Tour race at VIR earlier this year. At 47, he's out to prove he can run with the best on the grid, backed by crew chief Mickey Carter of Carter Racing Enterprise, along with sponsors Howard Lumber & Hardware, O.C. Welch Ford, Home Team Real Estate and McManamy Jackson Hollis, LLC. Based in Savannah, Georgia, Sauers keeps just as busy off the track running S.D. Sauers Construction and spending time with his wife Angela and their family. A former Golden Gloves and junior Olympic boxing champion who went on to play college football at Georgia Southern, Sauers is ready to bring that same drive to Trans Am. Welcome, Stephen!

🏆 Following the weekend at Canadian Tire Motorsports Park, the top ten in the Rookie of the Year and Young Gun standings have shifted. Alon Day continues to lead the Rookie of the Year battle in the No. 17 TeamSLR Chevrolet, while Helio Meza holds the top spot in the Young Gun standings in the No. 28 TeamSLR Chevrolet. Four classes, one unforgettable day at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park. Helio Meza held off teammate Alon Day by just .025 of a second in the No. 28 Alessandro’s Racing Chevrolet Camaro to score the closest finish in the 61 year history of Trans Am, with Lanie Buice completing the CUBE 3 Architecture TA2 podium in her No. 27 Sunoco/Guthrie’s Garage Chevrolet Camaro for her first career TA2 podium finish.

In the TA2 Pro Am Division, Roberto Sabato took a hometown win in his No. 61 6th Gear Racing Ford Mustang, joined on the podium by Cale Phillips and Doug Winston.

Paul Menard outdueled points leader Matthew Brabham for the TA Class victory in his No. 31 Pittsburgh Paints/Menards Ford Mustang, with Chris Dyson rounding out the top three.

And in the SGT Class, Zach Arnold took the win in his No. 72 Arnold Machine Porsche GT3 Cup over Patrick Utt. What a Labour Day Weekend at Mosport.
