@StonebrakerS With a proper hip hinge and enough baseline strength, any movement like that can be productive. The issues comes from a lack of those things. Its all about load tolerance my friend. Try them sitting down while holding weight against your chest instead. Then progress to standing
@Cornell_Kevins@Thebasilisk79 Yeah, that guy. Who’d of thought they’d have a similar performance at the big dance? 2-2 is still impressive though. Tough draw for a 2 seed. Cklv Joy would have made the finals probably.
REPOST from Timothy Cowen — current CBU wrestler.
Everyone should hear directly from the athletes living this.
Their voices matter. Their seasons matter. Their futures matter.

@AaaJourdan@DefiantLs@grok@grok Is what he suggested ethical? Should people be allowed to suggest using bioengineered allergies to push unfounded theories about addressing climate change?
Looking at how the Cornell vs Lehigh dual went, Cornell had a path to victory if you bump Joy & Shapiro to 157/165 and insert Fernandez/Saunders at 149.
That turns the TF at 165 into a likely decision for Cornell and maintains opportunities for wins/bonus at 149/157.
New video of ICE shooting: this is all you need to see. Once you see it, no matter your judgment about the shooting itself, how can this 37-year-old mother be so widely condemned as a radicalized psycho? I know the answer:
@Cornell_Kevins@Thebasilisk79@StonebrakerS@BigRedWrestling@LetsScuffle@MorganStateU Fair. Although fernandez does have wins over Tyus, Rivera, and Buesgens. All top 10 (i think) guys at the moment. Add in 2 wins over swisher, a win over Whalen, and recently the cassidy win, I think a case for top 15 is reasonable even with the weird losses this season so far.
Read my reply again. I said national qualifiers and ranked opponents. Cartella is a NQ. So is Fernandez. Not sure if Nugent was ranked at the time of their bout but he was ranked most of the season. I’m not saying his win over Fernandez isn’t surprising. Only making the point that he does pull off quality wins from time to time. Like the Rivera, Rooks, and Griffin wins he had in 2024. Yes still a .500 wrestler. No disinformation. Just a misunderstanding
Herman has a nasty firemans that we didn’t see in his matches against Edmond and Roberts. Quite frankly he seemed flat in those (probably adjusting). Fernandez got the worst of it but he hit it clean on Pearce off the whistle too. Pearce is having a phenomenal season by the way. Definitely another legendary backup
We are not privileged to the same information. Motivation is a huge factor. Coaches 100% pre-determine starters. Not saying Joy didn’t earn that predetermination, only that it’s a factor, especially for seniors effectively having their careers ended. At this level, most aren’t risking their bodies just for fun. It’s the NCAA glory that motivates the vast majority.
