@DaveDawson7 I would agree. Definitely seeing club teams beating academies more this year. Less super elite talent in the 2010 age group than the 2008/2009 groups would be a realistic statement. That season most 08/09’s all congregated on the top tier teams. Much more spread out this year.
@DaveDawson7@edmonton_wild 2022/2023 was the last time for me. North division had St Albert and KC. South had Calgary Bisons, Flames and the Airdrie Xtreme that beat NAX, Edge, OHA, and Rink Kelowna. A lot of talent played club that year even on the teams that weren’t mentioned above.
Wow! Tom Brady may have just delivered the greatest quote I’ve ever heard.
“To be successful at anything, the truth is you don’t have to be special. You just have to be what most people aren’t: consistent, determined and willing to work for it.”
Matt Davis was our rock in the net down the stretch and is our Bill Masterton MVP for the 2023-24 season.
He went 20-4-2 after the New Year & allowed just 3 goals in the NCAA Tournament to help the Pios claim their record 10th title.

Grayson Malinoski's first 10 minutes of WHL action didn't go to plan, however he rebounded to post 33 saves for @SeattleTbirds.
It's a familiar story for the undrafted @stoonblazers goaltender who has proven doubters wrong to become one of Saskatchewan's top U18 AAA prospects.
@KMFilipowski I’d be on the phone with the SJHL to open communication. Not saying anything could or should happen but have some conversations. What does an AB/SK league look like? How many players stay if it’s an option to play in either province? Lots to figure out but don’t close any doors.
If I’m the AJHL I’m taking my time and having lots of discussions as to what the league looks like going forward. Adding new franchises just to prove a point that you’re “doing great” isn’t the right way IMHO. You have time to set up next season, use it constructively.
Being a superstar comes with scrutiny whether you like it or not. Bolt never had to worry about it because he was just a great person over and above all his athletic talent. A few seconds out of his day to make people feel special. The world could use more people like Usain Bolt.
