Lots to love in the Odyssey (Anne Hathaway is immense, Athena reveal, Circe + surprisingly the Laestrygonians). But the writing’s a mess, Nolan still can’t shoot fight sequences and by now it’s sad how little interest he has in female characters. Deeply frustrating experience.
nolan can say until he’s blue in the face that the film is composed for scope, and anything outside of that is just “bonus” image to fill the screen of taller formats, yet people will STILL insist that they’re missing out on something because they can’t get to an imax theater
no shade but this is what timothee was talking about when he compared film to the ballet and not wanting movies to be inaccessible the way opera and ballet has become overtime
Studios need to release more 1.9:1 DCPs for other PLF screens. That's the only way to make 1.9:1 IMAX screens obsolete and push IMAX to focus on what actually sets it apart .
Dan said The Odyssey is very good, but not perfect. One thing he did mention though was the audio. With dialog clarity not being very good. It baffles me that Christopher Nolan and IMAX have gone out of their way to remove all noise from the cameras, so they can record dialog cleanly, and the dialog is terrible? Hopefully it was just how the cinema was setup, but this isn't the first review I've heard about dialog clarity.
It seems weird to me that Oppenheimer had perfect dialog clarity, and the sound design goes backwards? I'm hoping that this is a setup issue, and not just poor sound design and balance.
Other than that, it's looking good, and I can't wait to see it.

@Shivaa__M Dune 1 and 2 along with Project Hail Mary would like to have a word with you .
15/70 IMAX film is not worth it for vfx heavy films , your final render output will be confined to 4K.
