🚨🗣️: Gary Neville shares his thoughts on Bukayo Saka’s performance last night.
Gary Neville: (Pacing near the touchscreen, pointer in hand)
"Look, I’ve got to be honest with you—I watch a lot of wide players in modern football, but what Bukayo Saka does on that right-hand channel is absolute quality. Absolutely top drawer.
Look at this sequence here [taps the screen to pause analysis]. Look at the full-back's body shape. He is terrified. He doesn't know whether to come tight or drop off, because if he tightens up, Saka just rolls him on the half-turn and he's away. If he steps back, Saka pops it into his feet, drives into the half-space, and all of a sudden the entire defensive shape collapses.
It’s not just the goals or the fancy footwork—it's his decision-making. He rarely gives the ball away in dangerous areas. He knows exactly when to slow the tempo down, draw two defenders out of position, and then deliver that killer pass across the face of the box.
He’s playing with maturity way beyond his years. Every single time he gets the ball on that right wing, you can feel the entire opposition backline panic. He is becoming completely unplayable for both club and country."
Dream On, Football.
I still dream of playing football.
That might surprise you, coming from someone who plays it for a living.
But it’s true.
I still dream of playing with my friends.
Playing until sunset. Until dinner.
Playing just because it was a game, long before it could become a career.
I have followed this dream for as long as I can remember.
Once again it has led me to one of the biggest changes in my life.
Now, I find myself surrounded by innovators who dream of the same things I do.
Of bringing foot as close as possible to ball.
Of bringing the people as close as possible to the game.
Of bringing the world as close as possible to play.
I guess that’s the thing about dreams that refuse to change.
They’re usually the ones that change everything.
Dream On.
