This woman first hated on her own race, then her own gender, and now her own country. Next thing you know, it will be her own family.
That’s not really how it works. Being human means learning, growing, and evolving over time. She and I have both been learning to recognize things we once overlooked, and we have gone through, and are still going through, a process often referred to as “unlearning” and “deprogramming” from beliefs and influences we feel have not served us well.
She simply shares her experiences and what she has learned along the way. Some people resonate with it, and some do not, and that’s perfectly okay. Everyone is on their own journey.
If her content bothers you, though, you don’t have to continue following or consuming it. There are plenty of people whose content I choose not to engage with, and that’s okay too.
Despite the findings of identical twin studies—which repeatedly show that genetics accounts for a large portion of who we become—many people still cling to the belief that environment is everything. The evidence suggests otherwise: much of our personality, temperament, intelligence, strengths, weaknesses, and behavioral tendencies is rooted in our genetic makeup long before life begins shaping us. At the end of the day, no matter how much you change, adapt, or reinvent yourself, you will always gravitate back toward who you truly are at your core— and your core is written by your genes.
