@Talkitlikeitis@JamaicaGleaner And this Opposition Party is the worst on the history of Jamaica. Michael Manley must be rolling in his grave and PJ must be very disappointed. DISGRACEFUL SET!!!
We exist in an environment where some folks will spread entirely false information on a weekly basis.
Their agents will then 'clutch their pearls' & express shock at calm but clear & firm written pushback against the misinformation & seek to frame the pushback as "an attack".
Recent disparaging remarks from first term Opposition MP Nekeisha Burchell, about Speaker of the House Mrs. Holness, should concern every Jamaican, not just women.
Likening the Speaker’s efforts to maintain order in Parliament to “control of a husband in marriage” are unrefined, inappropriate, disrespectful and downright low.
The country looks to Parliament for direction, leadership and examples.
As MPs, we are guided by the Standing Orders of Parliament. Until those Standing Orders are changed, let decorum reign!
I wondered if I read these reports correctly...because I could not believe that in 2026, this is the type of comment being made by a female member of Parliament! What a retrogressive statement and state of mind! You know, when measured against other countries across the world, Jamaica is one of the better performing countries in terms of women in leadership. But we are not without challenges, and gains can be lost if we are not careful. It is one thing when the efforts at disempowerment come from predictable male spaces - an entirely different thing when they come from women who should be fighting the same battles. @JulietHolness has been an exemplary role model and an inspiration to countless girls who aspire to be strong leaders - long may she continue to do so despite the best efforts of some - including those who have yet to achieve a fraction of what the Speaker has professionally, politically and otherwise! Just incredible. Clearly an apology is unlikely from this quarter, but I hope that even one person in the PNP Women's movement will at least sit down with Ms Burchell and give her some counsel.
@OwenBar26940449@JamaicaGleaner For a so called Christian man or woman you clearly lack discernment. Ask the Lord to open your eyes so that you see what is clearly happening. You are spiritually blinded by politics. Pray for our country and stop the politicking !!!
@JayJPatel_@RTNToronto So it was a black doctor that was negligent in this instance. You are such a racist piece of what you know of. Talk about the failing health system and stop being a "bigot". You have doctors of all race that are not well trained.
@darylvazmp Minister, please take care of yourself while you are doing the work. I heard you just now at the press conference, and you sounded sick. We need you more than ever now, so please take care of "you" while working. I am praying for you. God bless.

@JAForJustice@NationwideRadio Bipartisan with these panelists? Are you kidding me? You must really think we are stupid. If you continue on this trajectory, you may eventually be one of the most hated organization in this country. Mark my words!!
