Since #autistic is trending please remember that:
- Autistic people arenโt โfaking bc itโs trendy.โ We are real.
- Weโre disabled, not โspecial needs.โ
- โAspergerโsโ and functioning labels are harmful ableist terms.
- We arenโt โsuperheroes.โ
- You shouldnโt believe stereotypes.
@RaveNailz Push the cuticle, file the top of your nails slightly, and wipe them with acetone! This makes sure there's no oils that will keep the glue from lasting, and the filing gives the glue some texture to grip onto! You can also file the underside of the press ons for extra grip!
@Autistic_Lia I often have non-speaking shutdowns. And sometimes during them I can FORCE myself to speak, but it feels like it takes every bit of energy I have, and leaves me mentally, emotionally, and physically drained.
@AutisticCallum_ The reason for this, from what Iโve learned, is due to the affect of autism on the hypothalamus. The hypothalamus of autistic people was found to be smaller, causing its function to be affected. One of the functions of hypothalamus is regulating body temp.
@Autistic_Lia Yes, but I couldnโt until I was 19, because it was too frustrating. Even now it still can be very overwhelming and frustrating sometimes. I mainly only drive where I live. I wonโt drive elsewhere.
