Why I think UCLA 7 or more games:

My favorite regular season win total going into this year was the Bruins. Deshaun Foster was one of the worst coaches in college last year, and they get a huge upgrade to proven winner on every stop Bob Chesney. UCLA brings a ton of talent back as well as 8 starters on his playoff James Madison team. UCLA has 5 no doubt wins against, Cal, SDSU, Nevada, Purdue, and Michigan State, as well as being favored in 4 more (Wisconsin, Minn, Illinois and Maryland) We have them getting to 7-5.

When UCLA takes the field September 5th vs CAL the bears will be led by a first time head coach along with first time coordinators. Bob Chesney will be entering his 16th season as a head coach and both bruin coordinators have worked under Chesney for multiple years.

Why i’m backing Oliva Nelson-Ododa rebounds 🪜

ONO is averaging 12rpg this season without Griner, and now goes up against the 3rd to worst rebounding team in the W. She is also averaging 10rpg in her last 5 games where she gets at least 25 minutes and I project her to have close to 30 min this game. Pace up spot too which means more opps at rebounds + tougher post up matchup for her so expect her to be more aggressive crashing the glass.

Why i’m backing Diamond Miller points ladder

For those of you in the discord we were burned badly by Diamond Miller last game with a 3/13 shooting day but I expect her to bounce back in today’s game. Without Edwards or Griner, Miller still averages 15.6ppg per 30 min this season, which is a 3ppg increase from her seasonal average. Miller scores 44% of her points from either transition or spot up which the sparks rank bottom 5 in both.

Sabally, Conde, Allemand were all ruled out for today’s game, but Sykes returns. In games where Sabally doesn’t play Harrison averages 15.8ppg, that number increases to 18ppg when you add in when they are playing a bottom 5 PnR Roll Man with Sabally out. This number is way to low, even with the uncertainty of Sykes returning

Why i’m backing Angel Reese Points ladder 🪜

This one isn’t for the ill willed, watching Angel miss 4 first half wide open layups last week was brutal, but I am going back to the well on this one. Against teams who give up the most rebounds to bigs, Angel Reese is averaging 22ppg in her last 5 matchups, including a 23 spot against the Aces, the team she faces tonight. After that slow start in her last game (1/6) she did still finish with 15 points on 5/16 shooting, I do expect her to hit that 15 points again here tonight then start to climb the ladder
