Passionate about the ocean! I’m a Boat Captain/First Mate on a whale watch boat, ex SCUBA instructor of 10 years, active body surfer, marine life photographer.
@Rob1865_ Let’s hope he keeps his promises, with all his famous buddies declaring they will move to another country if he gets elected. The draw of the insane money they make in the US and the privileged lives they lead will stop them. All talk, but all liars!
@TheEXECUTlONER_ Absolutely! I agree, Do something Mike. You’re are beginning to look like a “Swamp RINO”. Forget the photo ops and actually get something done!
@KeithOlbermann Go back to school Keith. Take a legitimate US History class. We don’t have a democracy, you twit! Our government is a constitutional republic. We don’t operate by mob rule (democracy). Otherwise people like you would turn this country into a fascist state.
Look what found me yesterday on my 12 PM trip. This Humpback seem to be very curious about our generator cooling water. Was totally mesmerized by my boat.
This young Gray Whale hasn’t lived long enough to accumulate a large amount of barnacles that his old mates do. Adult Grays can carry up to a ton of Barnacles. They also have whale lice (not the human lice). The lice feed on the scar tissue left from the barnacles.
Here’s a good pic of a young Gray Whale, which shows the lack of a dorsal fin, typical of Grays. Instead of a dorsal fin they have a series of six ridges called knuckles on their backs. This is why they are not part of the Rorqual family of whales.
Yearling Gray Whale alert in LA Harbor. We found this young Gray Whale feeding inside the harbor yesterday. Probably it’s first migration trip without momma.
Found two pods of Common Dolphin yesterday. One had about 50 individuals in it, the second one had literally thousands. We were in the main part of the feeding frenzy, but they were stretched out for a couple of miles in all directions. Amazing site.
Blackie was very aggressive when feeding. It would swim very fast before a dive. Humpbacks normally swim fairly slowly, but this one acted like it was in a race.
