If Uganda is to make leaps in infrastructure and social reform, this book should be made mandatory reading for implementers.
Haven’t enjoyed a book this much. Read it twice for good measure.
Solar power is becoming the undisputed energy source for Uganda’s rural community. I went to Lapidyem in Pader where a solar mini grid project delivers power to over 100 homesteads for 10k a month ($3). It’s a local govt project done in partnership with @EUinUG
Forward thinking
Hmmh! The difference between FORECAST, PREDICTION, and PROPHECY is that a forecast is a systematic, data-driven projection based on statistical models, historical patterns, and measurable trends (such as a weather forecast or economic outlook); a prediction is a more general statement about a future event or outcome derived from reasoning, expertise, intuition, or partial evidence (such as predicting a sports result or election winner); and a prophecy is a supernatural or divinely inspired declaration of future events, typically rooted in religious, mystical, or spiritual revelation rather than empirical analysis (such as biblical prophecies).
INNER STRENGTH - part 1
The hurdle in most Ugandans' lives was summed up for me in 2012 by FDC activist Doreen Nyanjura:
1) The fear of poverty.
2) The fear of dying young.
Why does fear rule our minds?
Because we lack the analytical ability to measure the extent of danger.
I'm happy to announce that we raised over 1 billion Uganda shillings during the birthday run. I shall soon announce the charities we shall support and handover cheques to them. Thank you all for your support.
I want to thank everybody who supported in whichever way to the success of today's run for charity and hope. You are all the best Ugandans we have. Thank you so much for contributing to the betterment of less fortunate citizens. I will announce how much we raised and what charity we shall support. God bless you all. Muraregye.
