Are you really trying to convince us that publicly drinking alcohol every day at a workplace is acceptable? Is that the standard you want young people to admire? Is that the example we should celebrate? You see absolutely nothing wrong with promoting that behaviour, yet you are outraged when someone calls it out. That says more about your priorities than it does about the criticism itself.

Your problem is the same as that of many others: you think politics begins and ends with election results. The EFF is a political party, but its greatest achievement is not simply winning votes. Its mission is to inspire, politically educate, and decolonise the minds of the oppressed. Freeing people mentally from systems of oppression is far more significant than chasing votes through gimmicks. That is a reality many of you fail to grasp.

If only you knew how many times people have predicted the end of the EFF, especially Julius Malema, you would have saved your data. Men far more influential and powerful than you have declared him politically finished, yet he is still standing.

So your uninformed analysis is embarrassing. To believe that criticism on the MacG Podcast will bring about the end of the EFF is laughable. What it really highlights is how unwilling some people are to engage with the issues that have been raised.

Are you seriously trying to convince us that drinking alcohol publicly every day at a workplace is acceptable? Is that the example we should be setting for young people, many of whom look up to public figures? Should we encourage them to believe that “chilling” or success is synonymous with drinking alcohol? You see nothing wrong with promoting that behaviour, yet you have a problem when people question or criticise it.

The problem, like with many others, is that you misunderstand what the EFF seeks to achieve. Yes, the EFF is a political party, but its greatest contribution is not merely the number of votes it wins. Its broader mission is to inspire, politically educate, and decolonise the minds of those who have historically been oppressed. Empowering people to think differently and reclaim their dignity is more important than chasing votes through gimmicks. That is the part many people fail to understand.

As for your claim that South Africa has been “held to ransom,” I honestly don’t know what you mean by that. That’s a sweeping statement without any explanation. If you’re going to make such a serious claim, at least explain what you mean instead of expecting everyone to accept it at face value.

It seems you’re more interested in defending your TV personality than engaging with the substance of the discussion.

And finally, if you’re genuinely concerned about the alleged rot in government, then you should know there are appropriate institutions and legal processes through which those allegations can be pursued. Simply repeating accusations on social media is not the same as proving them.

No one forced him into politics. The problem is that you listen only to respond, not to understand.

Mac chose to enter the political arena himself. At one stage, there were even discussions about Eugene Khoza representing them in the hope of securing a seat in Parliament. So let’s not pretend he was dragged into politics against his will.

And again, if you listened carefully, Julius never “cancelled” Mac. He criticised him for what he sees as the depoliticisation of young people. Whether you agree with that criticism or not is another matter, but there is a difference between criticising someone’s influence and hating them.
Julius’ argument was that Mac’s content makes alcohol consumption appear fashionable to a young audience, something many children and teenagers admire. You may disagree with that view, but expressing it is not the same as hating the person.

The moment you choose to participate in politics, you also open your views and public influence to political scrutiny. That’s how politics works.

There’s a difference between criticism and hatred. We are not stupid enough to confuse the two.

Constructive criticism is based on reason. It points out where someone is wrong, presents evidence, and offers a different perspective. Hatred, on the other hand, is driven by contempt and personal attacks.

When you insult EFF supporters, call them fools, and openly wish for the party to receive 0% of the vote, you’ve gone far beyond criticism. That’s political hostility.

If your intention is genuinely to criticise the EFF, then engage with its politics. Debate its policies, its seven cardinal pillars, its economic proposals, its positions on international relations, and its performance where it has exercised influence in government. Challenge ideas with ideas—not insults with insults.

That’s how serious political debate should work.

You have a history of making poor judgments. You supported AfriForum because you believed it was good for South Africa’s future, only to later regret that decision. You backed Herman Mashaba, then changed your mind. You supported Gayton McKenzie, and later regretted that too.

You spoke highly of a so-called white billionaire, even inviting him onto your podcast, only to later distance yourself from him.

You’ve also spoken publicly about your personal relationships and the consequences of some of your own decisions. Before blaming social media or everyone else, perhaps it’s time to look in the mirror, take responsibility, and learn from your mistakes.

No one gets every decision right, but maturity is about owning your choices instead of constantly looking for someone else to blame.

...are a reminder of why men don't open up. Our vulnerabilities, struggles, attempts to be in our children's lives... get weaponized & turned into jokes.

This is why men get depressed & commit suicide.

I have to take accountability for sharing my personal life online, being vulnerable about my struggles to access my kids, talking openly about having kids with multiple women & owning my life decisions.

Social media is not the right platform to talk about such. There are destructive people who will use this against you. And so-called influential people who will use this to tickle their fans, funders & voters.

It's sad that I once believed in Julius Malema as the future of South Africa. I was wrong. As I'm wrong many times about politicians & other people with dodgy agendas. I try to own up to this where I can... even though people attack me for it as well.

Please try to resolve personal matters in private, with professionals, & with people who genuinely care about you. Our society is broken & will project it's traumas onto you when you open up.

I'm sorry I shared my personal life. I've learnt from my mistakes & I'll try to do better as I grow and see the consequences of my actions. 🙏🏽

For the record: I love my children. I maintain my children. And I'm as present as I practically can be in all my children's lives. The only people who I ever need to impress in this regard, is my children themselves. Not their moms & definitely not social media.
