@EnbyCreature999 I liked Octopath Traveler story but couldn't stand the game after a few hours because every fight was the same, the stagger system is a cancer that makes every turn based incredibly BORING. Plus many games have far too much filler text with nothing relevant happening/said.
@EnbyCreature999 And as someone that likes older JRPGs the reason why I can't stand the Genre right now is precisely because they keep adding those gimmicks that to me make the games REALLY boring after 10 or so hours.
Meanwhile we will keep getting more and more islands that age like a rotten apple and soon players forget about it and go back to running the same capture mission to open relics. Well, unless they hit with FOMO in their new badly made unfun mode.
Warframe's new game mode seems like a massive waste of resources. If instead they made a Roguelike in the lines of Void Bastards it could completely revolutionize the game and if done right it could cater to nearly EVERY player as it could be customized and used most of the game.
Could use every tile, every enemy, every boss? A greater range of (new) mechanics, would cater to low level and high level players, solo or multiplayer, modifiers could allow boring farms to be more interesting (fissures, liches, Kuva, etc) and very evergreen in the long run.
@LyloExplorer In all seriousness though, that fight is the perfect example of why I like the DS Digimon Story games. Stats aren't fixed so even the stat loss from regressing still allows to get stronger than before fast, respecting your time. Fixed stats from CS felt like it wasted your time.
@AerBunny_ Before I played FFVII the one thing people told me that made it unique was that Aerith dies because "never done before", but I had played FFVI already and knew that the fate of 2 characters was fully on my hands. I still played FFVII... and hated it. 😂
@namelsstraveler Then there's Honkai Impact, where you get the enemy side of the story and fight some of the main characters, play as NPCs, enemies, enemies as "mechs" or "mounts", Rita's Robot dog, etc.
@Renathy_Prime I never farmed Cryotic because I just enjoyed running Hieracon for fun, Fusion Cores and the rare Life Strike, which gave me all the Cryotic I would ever need. 👍
Freedom Planet is a great game. It annoys me how such a good game just goes under the radar. While in late game I felt like they were throwing literally EVERYTHING at you, the game does have plenty of excellent moments.
There was nothing better than going to a Lan House/Cafe to play Counter Strike 1.6 with friends and strangers, and then when James Blunt "You're Beautiful" started playing on the radio everyone would start singing it.
@huacowboy Hoyo catering to HSR completely destroyed the lore of HI3, retcon after retcon made most of the older content completely pointless, then they removed the whole identity by turning the honkai, part of the literal universe into a small, localized and rather insignificant occurrence
